Default Removal of non-factory decals; major glue residue left behind

I recently purchased a 2016 artic white Stingray. Very satisfied with the car, however, I was not too thrilled about the black after market decals the previous owner put on the roof and hood of the vehicle. I used a blow dryer and slowly peeled off said decals (took a little over an hour). To my absolute horror, what remained was a coating of cream/yellow glue or residue that looks like it doesn't want to come off without a fight. I figured there would be some residue but I guess I'm freaking out a bit because it looks like absolute $hit and I'm worried about potential damage. Can anyone suggest a product that will get this crap off my car without damaging the paint? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

3M makes an adhesive remover used for molding glue etc. I used it to remove glue left from peeling off my old paint protection film. Works great. Called 3M ADHESIVE REMOVER. Worked when everthing else failed

I've also been told that soaking the area with a Goo-Gone saturated cloth works quite well though I haven't tried it.

I tried googone on the glue residue from vinyl letter bumper inserts on my C5.
Lettering put on the car in late 2000 - Googone didn't faze it.

My Stingray had stripes from front to rear...the 3m product removes the glue and does it easily. Buy it

Thanks REZ! Did you simply apply it, let it sit for x amount of time, and then wipe off?

That is an excellent product and is exactly what you need to fix your problem IMO.
