no, and I'll tell you why. You will be sued if you are in a accident and the tow hook causes more damage than there would have been without it.

Besides it looks stupid on a street car.

I think leaving them in is just asking for them to be stolen. Just modify the foam insert in the hatch and keep the front hook in the car in case you need it on the street, as you could install the front hook in either location.

Only if you're on the track.

I've never tracked my C7 but used to run HPDE's with Porsche Club for years--I never put the tow hook in my Porsches on the track. The one time I had to be pulled out, by the time the "tow" vehicle got to me, I had grabbed my tow hook and put it in, myself. I carried one in a felt bag in my driver's door pocket, so it was always handy if needed.

So I guess my advice would be just have the tow hook handy, unless they make you put it in, in advance.

On the street--you'll just look stupid IMHO!

On the track = on the car
On the street = in the car

Although, I have been know to leave mine in place when doing back-to-back track days.

nope, leave 'em in the trunk until you need them, or you're on the track, then put them in.

why don't you just screw it on if and when you need it? It takes all of 4 seconds, to me leaving it on is about as ghey as people who leave the numbers on their car after leaving the track.

Looks like its pretty one sided on the forum. Many comments on video say keep them on. I guess I'll decide after my track day this week weather to remove them. Thanks for the opinions tho!

I don't mind them on cars that they actually belong on, such as vettes, track capable muscle/sports cars, etc. But thanks to ebay, every douche has one on every POS in my area. A couple years back, I'd say leave it, it belongs. But now, my opinion is take them off as soon as your event is over. Think of it as the belly button piercing craze. When it began, only the hottest girls were doing it, but when the mama Junes, and Rosie O'Donnells of the world followed suit, they sadly killed it.

I wish my 2014 came with the receptacle for the toe hooks, but I would probably not leave them in place unless I needed them.

I purchased the same ones and color as in the video. I think they look great and really provide a nice accent. I don't like the red ones because they look too ricer for me. But the black/stainless combo really compliments the black and stainless on the car. Mine is a GS which I will occasionally track.

Whether you like them on all the time or not is purely a personal choice. I just returned from the Somernites Cruise-in "Corvette Summer" in KY where there were A LOT of vettes. Got a lot of positive looks and comments about the tow hooks.

No you must leave your car completely stock just like gm made it or you will be disgracing the corvette name and the old farts on here will really give it you via written bashing.

Why do people ask these kinds of questions here? Leave them in if you want. No need to explain anything to anyone. I leave mine in even after the track because I don't want to keep taking them off and putting them on, because I'm lazy and don't want to risk messing the threads up. Oh and I like the look of them , if someone else doesn't, don't care

Around here, tow hooks on the street mean "I'm a ricer trying to look like a racer."

I'm curious, how did you acquire those statistics? Did you poll all of the american muscle car divers in chicago or the 10 guys that are 60 years old plus in the group you probably roll with?
