Might have finally found a C7 to buy if I can work out a deal, but it has silver wheels and Id prefer black. Being a somewhat popular wheel, I wondered if I would be better off looking to buy/sell/trade into some black ones or just have them powder coated.

Any idea how much PC would run me? And can you get carbon flash in powder?

My black wheels were peeling at about 1500 miles. For me, the powder coating itself was $100 / wheel, and the car was up on jack stands for about a week. Mounting and dismounting was $250 at the local discount tire but this is where things went bad. I watched the manager of the place do them and he did not seem to struggle at all but he managed to somehow slice one of the tire beads so a new tire cost me another $350. People here are recommending the touchless tire mounting systems but I could not find one local to me.

I had mine done by Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist. They came to my house and got the wheels. They broke them down, removed the centers, did them in black and polished the barrels. They remounted and balanced the tires and brought them back in a week $600.

Just paint them. PC is hard to touch up when damaged, and can hide cracks that would show right through paint.
