^^^ It's called, "updating a thread" so people know the current status and don't just think the OP went away and left people hanging.

"While the photo might be old hat to you, many people have not seen it, or are aware of the A8 problems." JoesC5

I actually have not seen this photo even if it was posted before. That looks horrible.

OP, I hope you are happy with whatever comes of this, and the next car you get in its place.

Have to say I'm pleased with my '14 A6. Wonder if this will be the first time in Corvette history that the first year of the generation comes to be viewed as the MOST reliable in the series?

You come over from the Stingray forum?
Sounds like torque converter failed and then repairs were not properly done by dealer techs. This set off the nightmare you have endured.

Everyone involved is baffled why they won't give us a straight up buy back.
I've had a vehicle bought back by the mfgr; and from my experience... you have to demand a buy-back. It's never just simply offered.

I didn't, after several attempts to fix my 16 stingray, GM called and said they were prepared to buy my car back if that was agreeable with me. I did go through BBB, not sure if that made a difference. The BBB process indicates they will buy back or replace. They never even mentioned replace in my case. Go figure.

The point being that the issues are not handled properly.

Stand behind your product and customers.

Especially when that product is approaching $100k.

Dealer techs change oil and do minor repairs. TC is major break down. Not for that faint of heart. They Rarely have to look at a tranny. Experience 0

We've made that clear to them numerous times.

Why is it such a secret knowing the company that is remanufacturing these replacement rebuilt transmissions. Someone out there has to know since everyone on the Forum is so knowledgeable about the C7.

Not sure I get your point/question.

I'm guessing whoever builds the A8 'rebuilds' the replacements. Not good PR for them or for GM to release those #s, if they look bad. If they subcontract company X to build for them, company X won't last too long if they make GM look bad.

The reason I brought this up is when our C7 had a defective computer the dealer gave me a printout and it listed the name of the company that remanufactured the part. When a replacement part comes to a dealer then there are no markings on the packaging showing where it came from other than a GM parts depot. The Corvette brand has such a loyal following and they could do more for customer satisfaction for the percentage of buyers
who end up with not so perfect cars and have to deal with GM and the dealers.

UPDATE:

Just got off the phone with my wife. As of yesterday, GM's head attorney had our case put on his desk. (informed via email)

Our attorney called my wife and and said that GM's attorney had just called and said (paraphrase) "I have no clue why GM has done this to your client. Quite honestly I'm pissed off. We will give you everything you want. I'll contact you next week."

Nothing's been "done" yet, but holy crap, did not see that call coming....

^^^

Thanks for the update. It's a real shame it took lawyers getting involved to get this result.

Because they are pieces of **** ! I had them do the same to me. You should have opted for a jury trial as I did. Not only did I get the car $ back but I got awarded $85K for loss and suffering.
