Tony,
You are playing right into Prestige's hands. The longer they can string you out, the harder it is gong to be to get your full money back. Quit waiting for them to give you a worthless warranty. Immediately demand they take the car back for breach of contract. If they don't say yes immediately, tell them you will have no further contact with them and they will be hearing from your attorney. Then immediately find an attorney to represent you.
If you do anything else, this will not end well for you.

Chris,
Because if I see someone trying to crash and burn, I'm going to do everything in my power to get them to pull up before they hit the ground.

While I was in the camp that a refund is impossible on your own and you could easily get them to get you into a different vette, after seeing the repair bill your f'd.They won't take it back easily. You have done one thing correctly, and only one. your not in possession of the car and NEVER touch the key again. It's time Tony - reach down and grab them- it's a man eat man world out there and your missing all your limbs- call an attorney TODAY, not after some holiday....or it's late in the afternoon blah blah....get aggressive.... rev up YOUR engine.

Well....
This is my last entry to Tony. You have been given SEVEN pages of good advice, which is to get representation and get YOUR money back. If you are REALLY lucky, you might get the repair bill taken care of (which is on YOU at this point). Seems like once a year, a thread like this comes up, people give GREAT advice and it's ignored. I truly don't understand why someone starts a thread ASKING for opinion/advice only to ignore it. I'm through wasting my time. Good luck....you're going to need it.

You can't afford not to have a warranty. It's the only defense against the mod bug!

I guess I don't see how it's $6k to fix the car. Sounds like some broken valve springs? If it somehow magically did not trash the pistons, just get a new set of heads way cheaper than some insanely priced $4600 valve job. If the pistons are dinged up then I hope those are replaced too. Sharp edges on the pistons from kissing busted valves can cause detonation at that high of compression.

OP, WTF is wrong with you? You're like Tina Turner when she kept going back to Ike.

I have been following this like a train wreck. My wife will say I'm extremely nice, will always give people way more opportunity to make things right than I should. But this is just nuts. You paid a crap load of money for a car you haven't been able to use and needs thousands of dollars of service before you can and after that you don't know what else could go wrong. This is insane, run away. It's not that special, thousands were made and you can still have that special car. If you let this drag on it will make this not special and you'll walk away from a brand disappointed when you could be truly happy. This is waaaaay beyond a doubt, get past this quickly.

I really like Tony. He has a heart of gold. Not so much his brain
Tony, I'm being serious when I say I'm pulling for you. You really do seem like a guy who I would want to be my next door neighbor. You are way too nice. That's a great attribute. And I don't really mean to imply you are not playing with a full deck.
But here is the real bottom line as someone mentioned a few pages back. This car can be a good car and good deal for someone. But to get there it has to be bought about $10,000 below normal value. At that point you are essentially self insuring yourself.
Either the car has to go away or you have to get to that good deal. As others have said, there is no iron clad warranty.

Hi Chris & Bret,
Based on the fact that there is no GM warranty due to the block coupled with the fact that there are some major repairs that could be the tip of the iceberg, and the advice from the Corvette Forum,
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...kron-ohio.html
I would like to return the vehicle.
I highly recommend you read the forum, and know that the outcome of how this plays out will be posted for everyone to see how this goes. It is my hope and goal that this is handled properly.
Thank you, let me know how we can handle the return of the Vette. Once we have this resolved I would be glad to work with you on a search for a different vehicle.
Tony
Please respond via email, I would like to have all communications in writing from this point going forward.
Received this morning at 9:09 AM
Hey Tom before I go to owner and figure this thing out to unwind deal, is there anyway we could fix it on our dime and WE purchase a 3 or 4 year like factory for it? That was my last question just wanted to cover all bases.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
I appreciate everything you have done so far.
I did some major thinking and consideration about this last night and with the fact that there is a GM block which was instituted for a real reason, coupled with the fact that there has already been a major repair requirement for the vehicle that is only a year and a half old, there is a distinct possibility that new and potentially more costly and failures could result to a blocked engine, powertrain, suspension and steering blocks that are in place. I have provided what was uncovered at the end of this email.
Even if there is coverage, from experience with warranty companies, they try to get out of from repairs with every excuse in the book, plus, there also lays the inevitable opportunity to be in the shop multiple times, with being stranded along side the road or in a worse case scenario, harm or death resulting from a major catastrophic failure during use.
Given the situation, I would like to return the vehicle and work with Prestige Auto Mall on the possibility of finding a new vehicle once this is resolved.
Thank you,
Tom
I would be glad to help you in any way to hold the party responsible who sold you the vehicle without disclosing the warranty block information. They should be held to any loss or return for non-disclosure and lack of full transparency of the warranty block if that is the case. My understanding is that non-disclosed information like that is a violation of the Dealership and Salesperson Licensing Agreement.

If they keep coming at you with that after-market warranty thing, you need to VERY CLEARLY EXPLAIN to them that: any after-market warranty company is going to find the GM warranty block and deny coverage. That's the first thing they all check when they receive a claim.
You botched that message above. Any car dealer ought to know that, which leads me to believe they're trying to pull the wool over your head.

Good job Tony. I would drive the car over there today, park it in their lot, hand them the keys and not leave until they cut you a check. (yes aggressive, but hey, you only get what you ask for in life )
Good luck

Other than the fact that it's not drivable, I agree. Have it flat-bedded to them and hand them the bill, which I also suggested way up top in this thread.
