Rattle in seat belt area ‘17 Stingray
I have a rattle that is subtle but sounds like metal to metal on the right side behind the door. It seems to be coming from the seatbelt retractor. Doesn’t rattle all the time but annoying. Any hints?

The passenger side seat belt in my previous vette would make a loud noise sometimes when the belt was not in the clip mounted to the head rest. If the belt was not in the clip, the metal part of the seat belt would hit the lower door area and make a very noticeable sound. Put the seat belt in the clip mounted to the head rest and see if the noise goes away.

I get the same high pitch rattle from that area. Couldn't find it in the search but if you find it let me know please.

I keep the passenger side belt buckled all the time to keep it quiet & from marking up anything, but of course it's VERY rare anyone is with me.

I too, have this occasional rattle from the passenger side seatbelt retractor area. When I push on the surrounding panel, the rattle seems to stop for awhile, but sooner or later it comes back! (my car is a 2017 2LT Stingray).

It comes from either the rear of the door right at the glass line, or the pillar just behind the door (near seat belt retractor).
It sounds like hard plastic instead of metal.
It's intermittent, the tech has ridden with me 3 times and it doesn't show up for him.
If my wife pulls inward on the door handle, the noise stops for a while.

For me variations in road surfaces causes it. On smooth, new pavement I hear nothing, but on rough, worn roads its very obvious... like a squeaking or creaking sound. Changing the various suspension modes (mag ride) will highlight it. For example in Touring its very low but in Track its loud! I assume its a trim clip back there. I might just stuff some foam around the edge of that pillar along the window area. If you pull up the weather stripping you'll see a small gap between the interior plastic and the outside painted part of the car. The sound might be sneaking thru this gap (guessing here).
