Factory applied clear protective trim yellowing
I have a white 2015 and the factory applied chip guards are yellowing. I am considering having them changed under warranty.
Has anyone had this problem?

Scores of us have had this problem. The yellowing is more noticeable on white cars. I removed the protective film from my white C7 last weekend. Since I have side skirts, I won't be replacing the film.

Expel at Bloomington Gold only wanted $500 to remove and replace.

And I'm doubtful it will be a warranty thing, that's a wear and tear part. It's also very cheap, so a dealer may just do it, but most just rip it off and put on some XPel or similar film that covers at least a little more area than the small area the factory covers.

Very common, definitely not a warranty issue, replace, remove it or live with it.

The 2nd pair also started yellowing, but we traded the car in on a '17 GS. The protective film on this GS is still ok but shows slight discoloration. When these turn yellow we will just remove them since we have now full length sideskirts for chip protection.

The film does not yellow, it's the glue...3M is known for this going back many years. The cleanest film for a white car is SunTek. My factory attempts at coverage were removed when the film was put on that covers the complete rockers and door bottoms. Having the dealer replace with more 3M will not solve the problem, you have to change the film manufacture. I have had 3M, Xpel and SunTek films on white vehicles going back 15 years. I now only use ST. FWIW.

When I ordered my 17, I was told the factory (Dealer installed) PPF was no longer available and was talked into a Xpel install. Happy with the Xpel, but the 3M that was installed on my GT Silver 2008 Cayman S worked very well for the 9 years I have it. No signs of yellowing, but again a silver car. But if the product did yellow, 3M will replace the product and compensate the dealer to remove and reinstall the new film from what I understand. Yellowing is a defect, not considered wear and tear, so since it was a factory sold and dealer installed item, it still should be covered by your 3 year 36K mile warranty. Good luck.

I have a 2015 Arctic White Stingray and had the same yellowing problem. My dealer replaced it under warranty. The factory material is a LOT THICKER than the aftermarket Expel type stuff. A friend replace the factory pieces with Expel and he is now showing marks on the Expel. Like I said it much thiner than the factory pieces.

For the OP, found a trick to remove the plastic. On a warm day, pull the material off at 90 degrees from the surface. Some have said you can pull at even a smaller angle BUT not more. The adhesive came off with the plastic. Very little cleanup.
On the bottom narrow area on the first side I was sitting on the ground and moved to far. I was pulling at ~135 degrees and the adhesive stayed on the car. Took more than 15 minutes to get it off a 3 inch by 8 inch long section! Real PIA.
Here is a PDF of my removal: http://netwelding.com/Rocker_Panel_Film.pdf
