get this rear spoiler. I think it looks great for our LBR stingray. I know to each their own and all that, but I don't want to be making some mistake that hurts the aerodynamics of the car. I can also get the clear smoke colored wickerbill piece for the middle.

Not my cup of tea but it's your car. I would expect your highway mileage will be reduced due to the increased drag.

Looks good, unless you are on a race track going full out that spoiler or just about any other will have no impact on aerodynamics or gas mileage.

Joe, they look good on the car and won't hurt your aero. Make the purchase!

More downforce at rear. You might wish to check what they do at the front with cars factory equipped with these to maintain balance at high speeds. I suspect it wouldn't make much difference at normal highway speeds.

Or you could just go with the fuzzy dice?

I just installed an APR with the wicker bill. No change in handling of the car and I doubt my mileage has been affected to the level that I will be able to detect. I looks better than the stock spoiler, IMO.

Personally I think it detracts from the looks of the car, but if she likes it, go for it.

Since spoilers mostly just create aerodynamic drag at lower speeds, it sure would be nice if GM would come out with a retractable spoiler.

Nice car pictured in the OP.

Not sure if you meant you were going to paint the spoiler wings LBR or not. Here is what it would look like out of the box in carbon flash.

If the wife likes it and you like it, what could go wrong?

With our type of driving, doubt you will notice mileage decrease. I kill my mileage all the time with my type of driving. I think it would look good in the color shown...go for it.

Aside from "what could go wrong", I do like it body color on your car. It looks less like an add-on and more like it belongs when body color.

I have the OEM Sage 2 aero package on my Grand Sport. The higher spoiler additions on the sides do redistrict vision in the center mirror. Adding the middle section would just make it worse! My $0.02!

It depends upon what one means by "hurts aero." The wicker bill will produce more drag, but at high speeds the extra downforce is beneficial.

On the street, at semi-sane speeds, the net drag effect is negative, but relatively small. For a street car, it's purely a "looks" thing.

I've was hoping and have discovered that the higher APR spoiler and tinted center wicker bill actually offer some relief to me. I daily drive the two-lane, mostly canyon-road Ortega Highway and almost every asshat who drives it loves to tailgate for the 20+ miles of canyon roads with their high beams blasting through your rear window. I leave at 4:30 AM so running headlights is a given. I do pull over on the turnouts to let these guys by but, invariably, the next guy takes his place 3 feet from my rear. Needless to say the Ortega is known as one of the most dangerous roads in the country due to aggressive, tired and low-skill drivers along with the mix of cars and commercial vehicles.

The APR spoiler, along with the tint I had applied, helps to block out some of the glare and allows me to concentrate on the road ahead.

I agree with foosh, it is for looks, at least in my case and I have been over 150 mph with my car pictured above and could not tell a difference in handling vs my previous two Vettes at the same 150 mph sraightline speeds, on the same track.

Of course any gains regarding reinforce will be realized most in high speed corninering on a road course.
