Makes it louder. No tone difference. All that is bypassed are the secondary cats, which have a muffling effect.

Well the shop not doing it gave me the motivation to do it myself. Just finished. Really not a bad job but a total pain in the butt trying to do it with just a jack and couple of jack stands. If it was on a lift it would be a piece of cake.
