Road Trip Tips
I'm on my sixth Corvette over the last 27 years - amassed more than 600,000 miles in Corvettes - never a bra, never a need to respray....
I split the DD duties with a 28-year-old Ferrari (it has 63K miles on it).... will spray the front end in another couple of years.....
Don't let the car own you....

We had the wrap done on our new 2017, a bit pricey but looks good and friends' cars seem to hold up well.
Respray can work well, but the high end body shop I had do some paint work on our high miles C6 said "the best paint that will ever be on your car, is the paint it came out of the factory with."
A simple scuff and respray won't look good on close inspection because the chips won't be filled in by the new paint. A proper job requires sanding or filling the chips for a smooth surface, then respray. More time/$$$.
I agree with "Don't let the car own you."
Each person has different ways of making that work.
