Default PDR auto activation??

For all the crazys and weird things that happen, It would be great to have your PDR on at all times. The current design makes you manually turn it on after starting the engine; eg press HOME, press PDR, press ACTIVATE. It would be great to start the engine and have the PDR automatically start. Does anybody have a fix? Thanks

No, there isn't one for the pdr, it has to be done manually. You'd have to look at aftermarket solutions for that functionality.

Default PDR activation

Ive had a hard time finding a sd card that works with it . I know it has to be formatted fat32 and that seems to be my problem. I bought one and tried to format it myself but the programs I found that were free at the end wanted to charge you another $60 besides the sd card cost. Any help

You can format it with any Windows or Mac OS that supports a fat32 filesystem. Google "how to format a usb thumbdrive to fat32 in windows/mac os". That will give you all the steps needed to format in fat32 without any add on programs.

Open command prompt as administrator. Type DISKPART. Type 'list disk' and find the disk of your SD card. Say it's 3. Type Select disk 3. Then:
Clean
Create part pri
Select part 1
Format fs=fat32 quick

Should be good to go!

Google "guiformat" after you find a good link to download it, you can run the exe and it will format any size SD card (i.e. 32,64,128 etc) to FAT32.

Default GM could easily do it....

A software update by GM for the BCM would take care of this. They could create an option which allowed "auto initiate PDR". Anyone from Chevrolet listening?

Early 2015's had it come on automatically if you wanted. Than a few lawsuits (one in the PRK that I can recall) caused them to default it to off and manually turn on.

Hard to imagine C7's being sold in the fat pig's country. Sure it wasn't somewhere else?

You can always create a shortcut to the PDR on the infotainment system, might save a few clicks?

How did you manage to create a favorite to start the PDR? On my 15 the favorites all disappear when I go into the PDR menus

The "favorite" does not auto start. You always have to hit the disclaimer and then the start button. All they are doing is getting the button on the main screen and the mini menu bar so they can get to it quickly from almost any screen.

Go to the home screen and click the little up arrow to display the favorites. Hold down a favorite button and it will tell you to click the item you want to add. Press the PDR icon.

Me too. BTW, if you haven't noticed yet, there is a time limit of about 1 hour 45 minutes before it auto shuts off.

Things like this are why it would be nice if someone came up with BCM "tuning" software (or perhaps an aftermarket modules). If Chevrolet doesn't want people digging into this then they should be open on providing updates to existing customers. There is no reason they couldn't provide an instant on feature that didn't record the cabin conversations. Then there would be no privacy issues.

On my 8G SD card I get sound on playback (radio, conversation) on my computer but on my 32G card I don't hear any sound when trying to play back on my computer. Anyone run into this kind of issue?

I don't know why people think it's not legal to record conversations. I spent 46 years in the communications industry and you can record any conversation as long as one of the people know it's being recorded. If it's your car you know. You can't record other people's conversations. So if you don't want something you said repeated don't say it.
