Key Fob

Tried testing the key that comes with the fob to see if it would open the hatch. Key went in and turned but would not open the hatch. Tried my second key same thing. Does battery power have to be dead in order for the key to work. Not sure if that makes sense since battery could be low on power but not enough juice to start car. Any ideas ??

No, key should work regardless of battery charge. Sometimes it is difficult to turn the key sufficiently to open the hatch.

Bingo. When it feels like you've turned the key as far as it will go, turn farther. That oughta do it.

Thanks for the replays . you are correct you have to give it a hard swift turn goes a little further then opens. Thanks again all. I can see how valuable this forum is...

I also tested mine since several people have said they could never get the hatch to open with the key.. Mine worked, but I think some have found they had to push down on the hatch while turning the key to take some of the pressure off the latch...

It does not hurt to spray some lube in the lock while you are there.
