Default How does your Chevy Service Department Rate?

How does your Chevy Service Dept rate in regard to your C7 service?

Do they generally fix what you’ve taken your C7 in for to get fixed the first time?

Do they tend to break more then they fix?

And very important, do they treat your C7 with care?
I have this concern of taking my new pristine GS convertible in for service and getting it back with scuffed up seats and sill plates, cracked side skirts etc.

Thanks in advance for your input!

I'm better things responses will vary greatly, since the dealers do. My dealer, Hawthorne Chevrolet, here in NJ, is great. I can't even imagine what a disaster I would have with all my C7 problems if it wasn't for this dealer. They were good even when I had cars from Chevy that were actually good, too.

These are good questions. I wonder if anyone has any kind of online ratings business set up specifically for automobiles? May be a business opportunity…

I would rate the service department at the dealership I go to a 98 out of a 100.

I have taken my Vettes to the same dealership for 20 years. They only thing they damaged was a wheel when the were installing new tires on one of my Vettes. They purchase a new wheel to replace the damaged wheel without hesitation.

My car is always returned in the same condition than when I dropped it off. They also take the necessary precautions.

They always only fix what I is necessary.

I am very satisfied with the service I get from the service department at the dealership I go to.

I take mine to Paul @ Jackson Chevrolet also. I've only needed the 500 mile oil change so far, but from everything I have heard and seen I feel confident that if things go wrong my car will be in good hands.

My Chevrolet Dealer rates a 10 with me on a scale of 1-10.
They have a Corvette Tech who is tops. I've been dealing with their Service Department for 18 years now and currently on my 3rd Corvette.
They treat my Corvette like you would want it treated. They treat it like it's brand new ready for the Showroom. They treat my Equinox the same exact way.

My dealership James Corlew is *****. They have fixed everything I have brought my car in for and that includes some repainting of some exterior parts that were matched perfect. One of the best dealerships I have come across being I have owned a Jaguar, Audi, Jeep SRT.

Love my service dept. They are a cadillac dealer and have one tech who does all corvettes. I've really done nothing but oil changes but have used them for over 10 years with multiple cars

My local dealership is not the largest but they treat me like I am part of GM management. Could not be happier. Before the first time I used them I talked to the Service Manager and warned him that I am the pain in the butt Vette owner that everybody hates. He has made sure that I've never had anything to complain about. I bet he warned everybody who touches my cars too. The whole department is first rate. Of course it is possible they they treat everyone like a someone special too.

So far I give them a 10 out of 10. They actually take the time to look over the car when it arrives and note any scratches or ding (etc) then look over the car with you after service. How cool is that

They even let you into the service area to watch the service guys work on your car. They are one of if not the best place I have ever taken a car to.

They are the Northwest's largest Corvette dealer and the owner is a Corvette frantic and that transcends to the entire operation.

Dealer/Service Department: Suburban Chevrolet in Sandy Oregon.
Many know them as Forum Vendor, Trunk Monkey.

I use a small town Chevy dealer that is excellent. They have a knowledgeable tech, use an alignment rack for Corvette oil changes (avoids any possibility of scraping coming on/off rack), and provide fast and excellent service. As an added bonus the general manager and sales manager both took a college course from me so I have known them for a long time.

On the other hand both Cadillac dealers in my area to put it mildly suck. My 2008 CTS took 5 service visits to get a properly programmed bluetooth capable OnStar module after the initial one was recalled. My 2014 ATS had 4 trips in its first 500 miles to fix problems with the evaporative emissions system. At least that dealer is pleasant but 4 attempts during the first 6 weeks of ownership was in lemon law territory and it would have been 5 trips and the end if I hadn't insisted upon replacement of both the lines and the valve connecting the evaporative storage canister since I was growing very tired of them replacing the valve over and over because particles of charcoal from the broken canister (root cause of the problem) remained in the lines and would foul the replacement valve in a few hours of operation.

Wow, it's great to hear so many positive comments.

I purchased my new C7 from out of state so will need to find a local dealership
for service work.

Do you find that most Chevy dealers have dedicated service tech, solely for Corvettes? I expect the larger ones do.
I imagine there must be extensive training for Corvette techs, both up front and ongoing.

If anyone is from the Richmond Va area and have any recommendation on service departments please let me know. We have several Chevy dealerships in the area.

I too am very happy with my dealership.
Reeder Chevrolet in Knoxville, Tn.
They have a Corvette specialist that no longer turns a wrench, but he trains the mechanics, tests drives the cars following the service, and looks out for our local club members with an eagle eye.
Thanks to Doug Ward @ Reeder.

I haven't needed to use my dealer for anything yet.

When I owned a GT350 I was on a first name basis with my service rep, and the general manager. The car and I spent quite a bit of time there. If you need a recommendation for a Ford service department look no further than Walnut Creek Ford!
