LOL . . . I ordered my GS and the sales guy wanted to know if I was getting the Z51 option . . . WHAT??? No one at the dealer (and they sell a lot of corvettes) knew the answers to my option-related questions. Although I did spend at least 3 months more than they did with educating myself on the new C7s.

2018 C7 of Year Finalist
Some people might think I'm crazy but I have no intention of driving a C7 before I order a 2018 next year. If I were to drive one right now it would just drive me crazy knowing that I'm not going to own one for such a long time, so there really is no point in doing that to myself. I know for sure that I'm going to love the C7, 99.9% of the people who have driven one and compare it to the C6 say it's considerably better, so I'm going to trust all of those opinions even though I'm making a major purchase. I also love the idea that my very first drive behind the wheel of a C7 will be the one that I have custom ordered for myself! That will make the first drive with that car even more special.

Have to agree, and I've had c2, c3, c4, c5, c6 and c7.
However, the OP just saved himself a bank of money if he really prefers the "at home" feeling of his c5!

Yeah the old C5 fits like a glove and its the first one I bought new and I really like it. So I wont feel bad dumping some money into it.

That's the thing that happened to me. It had been a long time since I had a new car. I hadn't realized the technology and manufacturing had come so far so fast. Now when I look back at my old car I think, "That thing sure was clunky!"

I had a C5 that was a street/track day car. It had a built LS3 motor making 525 rwhp, suspension upgrades, track pads, and wider wheels and rubber than stock. I was at an HPDE at NCCAR shortly after the C7 came out. There were a few guys there with new C7 Z51s.
I was very impressed with the capability of those cars. I'd run away and hide from them in the straight, but after turn 1 they'd get bigger and bigger in my rearview mirror until they were right on my bumper at the top of the main straight. Then the whole cycle started over. I was so impressed that I eventually went out and bought a GS. I've only had it on the track once, but it's very confidence inspiring.

Try Sport and Track mode for steering. This can be set permanently in Settings regardless of Driving Mode selection, as can Exhaust Mode and Cluster Display. I've had my 2015 Stingray and current GS steering set to Track and haven't had one thought of changing to anything else. FWIW, I have both Cluster and Exhaust set to Sport.
