Default My Bose system in my Z51 Stingray.....

I was asked earlier today at work how my Bose sounded?? The radio has been on only twice.....at the dealer.....wife wanted to hear it....

The music the exhaust makes ( fuse 42 pulled....Track mode ) is all I want to hear 24/7!!!

If GM....Chevrolet....Corvette.... had a radio delete option....I would 100% click that box!!

Well, how did it sound the two times that you had it on? Yeah, the exhaust sounds pretty good

Being a disc jockey on the radio for nearly 40 years, I appreciate the Bose sound system. But I love the exhaust note better.

It's amusing what features appeal to certain buyers. For me, the sound of the stereo can be a deciding factor on whether I purchase a certain car. The stereo in my 2007 vert sounded like a transistor radio on AM compared to the sound quality of the C7. That was actually a motivating factor on upgrading the car for me. When I was in the market for a new daily driver, I was looking at the Cadillac ATS. I liked the car but the stereo sucked. I decided on the Lincoln MKZ as the stereo was awesome.

Yup, you definitely haven't adjusted the factory settings.

I can definitely relate to your post. I turned the radio on about 2 years ago to make sure it worked. Pulled fuse 42 about that time and love cruising with the top down and the sound of that exhaust.

I think the 1LT sounds fine but the 2LT+ trim can handle lower frequencies with more clarity. My system still seems to be breaking in because I keep needing to adjust the settings to get it dialed in. I have treble turned all the way up, mid range about midway below the midpoint and bass just above midpoint. Not sure how close to anyone else's settings they are, but try it and let me know what others think.

Call me a heretic, but I would rather listen to petal to the metal music when driving than the exhaust-regardless of how sweet the sound may be-so I need a radio/music.

Crazy thing is I hardly ever have my radio on because I love the sound of the car. And I love my music

When you spend 20 hours a week commuting in your car, things like seat comfort and stereo quality become some of the more important things. I am fortunate that the audio in my 2009 Altima is rather good - better than the system in my 3LT for sure.

That's a pretty common setting, give or take. The vast majority of cars tend to have aome kind of resonance at that midpoint, which is usually 1000Hz. Turn the midrange setting way up and drop the low/high settings to midpoint...crank up the volume...and you will see what I mean....

All I can say is that the stereo in my 1LT is better than the one in my wife's new Beetle.

Every C7 comes with a radio delete option it's called the off button.

You think some of the Bose systems sound not great inside the car? Crank up volume/bass, windows up, close doors & stand outside & listen for the "bolts rattling in a can" from the resonance in those hollow doors. When the base drops really low it'll make you cringe. Hard to describe, like 100 pissed off wasps. I posted on Z forum that I thought I was getting lots of approving looks from cars next to me at lights but maybe they heard what I couldn't. This was covered in posts here before but I finally decided to check for myself-OH LORD-they were right. Today, I pulled both door panels, the large bottom speaker, & put in closed cell foam padding (used 3m spray adhesive on foam/not door) inside door against outside panel, on the structural beam across door, & stuffed padding between outside door panel & where it is glued to beam (not well glued/vibrates like crazy). A side benefit is (subjective) car is also quieter. I found out 1/2" thick is the most to use on the structural beam or won't clear window coming down.

I wanted 2LT for HUD and ventilated seats. If the radio is upgraded, so much the better. As for Bose, I liked the OEM radio in my C5, so did many of the folks who heard it. The C7 is a definite improvement over that, so I'm good.

I use my C7 for a lot of commuting and like to listen to music and podcasts on my iPhone (rarely listen to radio stations). I had some JL Audio C5-650 component speakers laying around and had that along with the JL Audio sub box made to fit our cars installed with an external amp and the system sounds quite good. In addition some sound deadening was added to the doors and rear hatch area which really improved road noise when the windows are up and hardtop on.

I found the Bose speakers very lacking in terms of dynamics, and the bass was sometimes distorted.
