Default 2017 Vert Top not working

SO after just a few months my vert top quit, tried window re-index and checked fuses. Pushing up or down on the switch does nothing no window activity no beeps or messages. Held the switch for several minutes in both directions - no sound or message.
Have an appointment for my rear deck recall reflash - was wondering if maybe the reflash will have something to do with correcting it - like maybe deactivating the top function if it sees the rear deck open - but I am not seeing any message about the rear deck not being closed. Guess I will find out unless someones knows some reset procedure or trick I am unaware of.

Obviously, sounds like its electrical. As you said, you've checked the fuses. Just let the dealer diagnose. I'm sure its something very simple. Maybe the partition in the trunk not secure???
As always read the owners manual in detail.

Make sure the trunk is fully closed. Slam it closed, the trunk switch must be made in order that the roof work.

I don't think slamming it is a good idea. It has an automatic close feature so you should need only just touch it to have it grab and pull down the lid. If it's still doing that slamming it will just risk damage. Do have the CPU flashed, then they can test at the dealership and do a proper diagnosis.

I see you're in Katy. It's too hot to have the top down, anyway. Enjoy the AC.

Unless I'm mistaken, convertibles don't have the auto-close feature. There's no reason for it.

I would disconnect the negative battery cable and give it 5 minutes and reconnect and try it again. May just need a system reset. Also check and make sure the trunk divider is in place.

Good point. That divider may look like it's in place, but it takes and audible click to ensure it is seated. It takes a bit of an extra push.

With no message on the DIC I am thinking the system needs rebooted. Disconnecting the battery should do it. Let the battery disconnected at least 30 minutes to power down everything. When you connect the battery, do not be in a hurry to restart the car, takes five or ten minutes to power everything up.

Interesting. Of course, my '14 doesn't, and like I said it seems crazy, at least to me, to have on convertibles. They don't suffer the coupe vacuum-sealed problem.

Yeah, the '14 coupes didn't either, but people had trouble getting the hatches closed without leaving a window down or door open, so they added it later, but I don't remember whether it was in 15 or 16.

I still don't understand why they thought the convertibles needed it.

So disconnected neg. cable for about 15 minutes - hooked it back up, reindexed my windows and now top works fine, only problem is now my radio screen is blank and wont come on. Somewhat frustrating with only having a couple thousand miles and 3 months old.
Will be heading to the dealer on Saturday. Sure hoping it is an easy fix

Do you mean some kind of electronic pulldown once the trunk lid is close, or ajar? Because my '15 Z convertible really doesn't do that, so they either don't have it on the Z or mine's broken.

Not a hardship to close anyway, not like the hatch on my C6Z coupe!
