Does anyone know where I can get a roof panel for a 2015 Z51 coupe?
My wife & I are having a baby in a week or so! I spaced when I put my top on my 2015 Z51 and YES, forgot to latch the top! YEP, it flew off!~ Yes, the car behind me ran it over as it was at night time! So if anyone know of either someone selling one, an aftermarket top? If you can give me any info that woud be great! Thank you, Michael, a grateful 1st time father to be at 60 years old! Thanks again

There are a couple of options. If you want a new one, try this:
https://www.trunkmonkeyparts.com/oem...aGV2cm9sZXQ%3D
The transparent one is marked discontinued. I would call them if you want that. Also check out the C7 parts for sale section. There are tops there from time to time. You could also post there.
Congratulations on the new baby and good luck on the top.

Sorry for the lost top and congrats on the baby. Not to sound like im sprinkling salt in your wounds but it amazes me how anyone can forget to do that. Its like you start driving with the doors still open.

It doesn't amaze me at all that someone can forget to do that. I don't care how intelligent and diligent you perceive yourself to be, you are human, and can easily be distracted in the middle of a task and forget to go back and complete it.
Here's a typical scenario . . . you're putting the top on the car, and before you get to the latching part, your partner asks you to put something in the car. You go searching for that, and by the time you get back you've forgotten to latch the top. It's not normal to look up at the headliner area when you get in a car and start it.
I'm a pilot and have been in the aviation safety business for 35 years. We strictly use checklists, and in a multi-pilot operation, the non-flying pilot reads each checklist item, and the flying pilot completes the item. Good pilots are very strict about that process, and don't shortcut it, even if you've been flying the same aircraft for many years. Many who were prone to shortcuts are no longer with us.
There's a vendor here who sells "Remove Before Flight" tags that hang down in your face, from the roof latch levers, so you can't miss them, just like on an aircraft pre-flight walk-around. That's a good procedure. It's the same thing we use on aircraft over as exterior covers, to protect against water and varmint invasion of critical systems..

I agree!~
It was the Murphy Law
If you think about not forgetting. what you think about comes!
I just put it on and closed the back hatch and then my phone rang! Having a baby coming, had my mind for that moment of forgetfulness! Lessons are learned with a big price sometimes! A lesson well learned for me!!

top options
when you search for a used top, the stingray, stingray w/ Z51, grandsport, and Z06 all have the same top, 2014 to 2018. just make sure the hardware is included. If a clear top is available, no painting required - truly plug and play. if you find a used solid color top, but wrong color, a paint shop might charge $400 -$500. Fixing a run over top will never be as strong as a factory top. i wish you the best of luck.

And as a former police officer, I can tell you that some very intelligent people have shot a hole in the wall (or worse) because just one time, they got distracted while clearing a gun.
Corvettes and firearms are machinery, and machinery has no heart about making you pay dearly for some mistakes.

I'm more amazed at having a kid at 60... Congrats... Was it natural or Viagra?? Just joking...
A lot of people send their roofs to flight school.. So that's no surprise...
I was a Grandpa at 47 (believe that's typical) but you are going to be 60!! with your own kid... TO each there own not bashing but you better get used to people saying is that your Grandson/Daughter....

Check out Melrose Corvette: http://www.melrosecorvette.com/c7-corvette-roofs/. Cheaper than OEM, and they get lots of good reviews.

As someone noted, be sure any top you buy comes complete with weatherstriping and hardware, unless your original parts are undamaged and you can get them installed at low cost.
I love transparent tops but they deteriorate over time or if cleaned with improper chemicals. Or scratched. So I wouldn't buy a used transparent top unless I could put it on my car and inspect from inside on a bright sunny day, before purchase.
EDIT:
Craigslist in your area, or the C7 Parts For Sale section here, looking for someone close to you, would be good places to start.

You'd have to paint it, but it still probably wouldn't look too bad being black until you did get it painted. It's been listed and updated on craigslist for about a month.
