Default 8/13/17 Delivery post with a dedication`Throwback/Barn pics of course~~Mike Furman

~Over the past 40 years I have come across many repeat customers and some stick out in my mind more then others. Last month I received notice from a Corvette Enthusiast in PA that Frank Class of Harrisburg, PA had passed away after a short bout with Cancer. I first met Frank late Feb 2013...why do I remember you ask? Because Frank was 75 at the time and had owned 40+Corvettes and still had his 1957 Corvette, his first. He stated to me he wanted to buy his last Corvette for his 75th Birthday. Well as it turned out...March 2014, March 2015 and March 2016 he bought his "next" last Corvette from me until finally in late October 2016 he actually wanted to place a factory order for his "last"Corvette. Dec 6th 2016 he took delivery of a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport cpe in Sterling Blue with Gray two tone interior. He couldnt make the 100 mile drive down to Criswell the last few times and we did the deal over the phone as I would give him a sight unseen trade value and then fed ex him the paperwork. He would send a couple of guys down to do the exchange. Frank was born with the correct last name as he was all Class in my book. This past week his daughter called me and I gave her guidance on liquidating his "17" vehicles that he owns...including his 1957 Corvette that he was so proud of and his real last Corvette, the Factory ordered Grand Sport that he was so apologetic for getting an Auto trans as all the others were manual shift. He said at 80 years of age he should consider something easier for him. Well Frank you will be missed and I want you to know I appreciated knowing you and talking Cars with you. Frank loved reading my weekly delivery posts so I would email them to him every Sunday morning. Franks favorite night was Saturday night so here I am on my birthday night spending a few hours putting this post together in his memory. Here's to Frank!

~I will be at Corvettes at Carlisle Wednesday the 23rd thru Saturday the 26th. Stop by the Ron Fellows Spring Mountain Tent or the Callaway Tent and say hello.

~Jerry E. of Fairfax Station, Virginia was referred to me by the body shop Mgr as he was getting some work done on his Maserati. The other day we narrowed it down to this Yellow 2017 Grand Sport Cpe and after 1 quick test drive he was Sold. He and his son Will drove up today and took delivery of his 2nd Corvette that he has ever owned, the last one being a Torch Red 2004 Z06 Cpe.
Jerry's new Corvette GS has Auto trans, Heritage Pkg, full length racing stripe, CF badge Pkg, CF Instrument panel, yellow calipers, ultra cool machine faced wheels, Nav/PDR and much more. I know his son Will listened intently and he plans on keeping his Father in the know with the GO!

~Dan D. of Annapolis, MD is a man I have known since 1989! We met at a Car Cruise, he was in his 64 Corvette and I had my 1967 442 W-30. We hit it off and stayed in touch and over the years he has bought several family vehicles with my assistance. Today he traded in his 2015 Volt for a new and improved 2017 Volt. Dan has a 7 car garage at home and most of the bays are filled with vintage Vette's!

~ I received our last Corvette truckload of 2018 Corvettes this past week and I also drop shipped 8-10 all over the Country. Stay tuned for all those stories over the next few weeks.

~Sept 30th-Oct 4th I will be hosting 20 of my Corvette customers out at Ron Fellows Spring Mountain Race Track in Pahrump, Nevada. Two full days of intense Corvette training and road racing...and tons of fun.

~Just received a 2017 Camaro Convt from the Indy 500 Race, an actual festival car.

~Frank Class's favorite section, my throwback pics and barn finds. As usual please post up which picture you like best. For now on this section will be called "Touch of Class Barn Finds and Throwback section"

~Have a great week!!

Mike, sorry about your customer and friend. Great story and another reason I am grateful to be in the fraternity, customer and friend...

my favorite pic has to be the one of Matt's white and my shark gray Z06 in his shop. Too bad the Laguna Blue Premier wasn't sold by you.. that's only because our buddy didn't meet you yet!

looking forward to seeing you Carlisle pal. Cannot wait to check out everything there. CHRISTMAS surprises mean little to me now that the kids are adults, but Carlisle is the closest thing to Christmas morning to me since last year lol...

thanks again buddy for putting the time and effort into these posts and especially for the day early thread.

And Mike..... you sold me one bad looking Corvette... thank you.

Happy Birthday Mike. May you have a hundred more a long with the rest of us. Enjoy..

Mike, through PM's when I was contemplating making the move to a C7 from my 08, told me it was a "Bucket List" item.. I rented a convertible and went for Friday Saturday and Sunday. I cannot see myself NOT going to the Mecca for a Corvette fan for the rest of my Life. My wife and I met Mile who was running around making sure "Gentle Ben's" 16 Admiral blue Callaway SC 757 was perfect for his delivery at the Callaway tent.

as busy as he was, he spoke with my wife and I for several minutes and it was then and there that I knew I would purchase my first new Corvette from Mike. Less than two months later that dream became reality...

life is too short not to enjoy it to its fullest. I lost 3 people that were part of my life all in the 40s in less than 18 months to illness. As well as my father not quite 70 had a hemmoragic stroke and luckily survived 2 uears ago... Was a real eye opener.

Mike will tell you if you haven't gone go...

funny as that is I was posting this and Mike called me lol.. told him a member who has never been put a question mark after it in your delivery thread and i was relaying what you told me last year and how right you were. Go, it's the greatest car show on the planet. That was us last year. Met him maybe 15 minutes befire that pic.

he already felt like a lifeling friend.

what a great guy.

does so much behind the scenes for charities.

Too humble to ever speak about it so i will.

Only figured those things out inadvertently and over time. He is great people. Theres a reason he is as successful as he is. It isnt luck.

Thanks Mike for another week f great pictures and stories.

Congrats. to all the new owners, and the favorite "throwback" of mine is the '63 SWC.

Sorry to hear about your friend, and you posts shows just how much class and character you have to have a tribute to Frank in your post. May he rest in peace, and condolences to his family.

Happy belated birthday to you, and here's to many more!
