Default Help choosing tire size

I have a 2015 c7 z51 and with the restrictor on the car I'm making 530 hp at the wheel.

My stock tires are pretty much toast (they did get me 22k miles), and I've got forgeline AR1 19" diameter wheels coming this week that are 11" wide.

I am pretty set on the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, but not sure what size. Up front I'm doing a 275/30/19 and they have either a 325/30/19 or a 305/30/19 for the rears that would fit on the rim okay (325s are 11-12" rim width as suggested by tirerack here)

I'd like to take the restrictor off and would think the more rubber on the rears would be best. Am I wrong and should I just go with the 305/30/19? Would the 325s just be pinched and look silly and have basically the same contact patch as the 305s anyway?

Would love some thoughts or anyone to share experiences/pics. I've got to let my guy know tomorrow morning for sure which way I'd like to go so they can get here the same day as the new forgeline wheels and not have more waiting time.

Thanks so much in advance for your help

I'd be concerned about clearance. Will the wider tires rub?

I know they've got the forgelines offset, but I'm not 100% sure if the 325s will rub or not. There's a greater risk for sure than the 305s, so that's one thing to consider. Hoping someone has some specific experiences.

Depending upon offset, they'll either rub on the inside or extend beyond the fender lip on the outside.

I've got an ecs supercharger on it. They have a restrictor for airflow you can take off /keep on for more /less hp without pulley changes.

At least that's how I understand it.

I would go with 265/35/19 front on 9.5" wheels and 305, 30 or 35/19s 0n the rear whatever is closest to the stock height of the 20" rear Z51 height. What with are the fronts? I wouldn't go over 9.5" myself. This way you keep everything basically even just one inch wider, and two sizes up.

I understand you're trying to get more traction as you remove the restrictor. Even going to a wider tire, I think you may have a traction problem in 1st gear and at least part of second. Right now with the Z51 gearing and the centri coming on in the mid to high rpm range, it should be a good all around combo for the street. Course if you find the tires being over taxed with the restrictor removed, you can always put it back in. That's beauty of the ECS setup.

The shop that ordered the forgeline's thinks the 325 will be okay. I ordered them, so we'll see what happens... Hoping to have them installed Friday/Monday depending on shipping times. I'll report back when I have tested them.

Got the 325's on today. No issues with rubbing or fit. They feel a little more 'floaty' with just normal driving, but they might just need some miles on them. The grip is much better for sure.

I went with 315's Just to be safe.I had heard somewhere that the 325's could rub.
Check them every now and then just to be sure.

Anybody run a 315 on the stock Z51 wheel with the car lowered on stock bolts all the way and get no rubbing?

likely not.

the problem is many that put larger tires on and say they fit haven't hit big bumps yet. I have 285/35/20 at the back and the car needed to be put up as high as it goes to not rub over bumps and at the race track.

I'll be going back to stock tires after these wear.
