Default The dreaded intake whistle!

Of course I did all bolt on mods at once so I'm not sure which one is causing the boosted whistle sound when applying some decent throttle.

Some say it's the ported manifold along with more air flow. A lot of theories out there.

All I know is that it's annoying and must be eliminated. lol

If anyone has any experience with this and/or proof of a definitive solution please share.

I just installed:

CAI
ported stock manifold
ported TB

Thanks,
Rob (owner of a whistling vette)

The CAI eliminates the air silencer. All intakes whistle without a silencer.

I came across something like this on a Grand National which drove the owner nuts. High pitched whistle on acceleration. It turned out to be a loose clamp on his air intake duct. This may not be the case in your situation, but worth a quick check. And also, the clamp looked like it was tight, but a couple of turns tighter and the noise went away. Just saying. Good luck.

So I went and tightened all the clamps up and the sound is now less pronounced and livable for me now.
Thanks

Glad you found the issue. As I recall, we ended up smearing the insides of the hoses with some silicon and letting it set overnight and it completely stopped the engine from making that noise. Good luck with the fix.

Good example of this forum at its best. No bitchin', just fixin'. Great job!
