Newly built Corvette test miles

GM doesn't "test drive" cars at the assembly plant unless there was an issue that needed rework. They get driven briefly on a roller as part of an electronically controlled and monitored systems test. Other than that, they get driven to the parking lot, and then to the truck that picks them up. If there are more than 5 to 8 miles on it, they probably got put on by your dealer, or the car was transferred between dealers.
There were 23 miles on mine. I know it went through a lot of quality control before it left the factory. I have pictures of the car in quality control. I told someone very high up in the plant after I did the engine build and buyers tour that I wouldn't mind at all if my car was selected for QC. Car was perfect and alignment was perfect by the time I took delivery at the Corvette Museum.
Seems that 2-3 miles at delivery is pretty common.
In my opinion, anyone that really bitches about a Corvette on a lot with less that 50 miles is really being a little too picky.

It wouldn't concern me to see my factory ordered 2018 come with 15 or even 20 miles on it as I know that means it got pulled for QC. What would concern me would be if I were buying a new one out of dealer's stock and it had 30 or more miles on it as I know a few of those miles were probably from someone test driving it. I definitely would not like that.

If your car has been selected for a Global Quality Audit (GCA), it will be test driven at least eight miles, and if anything is found, will be driven longer to determine/fix the issue.

I ordered my 17GS and when it came in it had 32 miles on it. That's the only way I knew for sure. They must have had to do some tinkering to get 32 miles on it. I look at it as both bad as it took 32 miles to figure it out or good that they went through everything. Who can say

Mine had about 4 miles.
I think dealers drive each car a few mies for gas and a quick checkup. My dealer told me GM now puts so little gas into the cars before shipping that they have run out of gas driving to a gas station.

He started his car at the end of the assembly line. You can actually do this when you take a factory tour. I have a picture of mine with 0 miles too. The actually give you a certificate that says you "birthed a corvette" or something to that nature.
