Default Z51 discontinued for 2018?

I havent seen any dealers with 2018 z51s. Are they discontinued because most Z51 buyers are probably just spending a bit more and going for the Grand Sport Instead?

I don't think so. I bought my Z51 because I don't like the look of the GS, not the price difference. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Z51 is still a trim level/option in 2018 just like it was in previous years.

Z51 is still available for those that want it, but for the slight price difference between a loaded Z51 with mag ride, most buyers are opting for the Grand Sport.

However, there are many people who much prefer the narrow-body look, but want the performance equipment. The Z51 still sells well, plus you can actually get UHP all-seasons for it and drive it year-round.

For an identical price, I'd still choose the Z51 over the GS for daily driving duty.

Which is why I'm glad I live in N central TX. I can drive the Z year round. 😎

I'm still wishing for a narrow body Z06.

I'm actually preferring the Z51 now that you can get most of the "Stage 2" aero bits as well (from the factory with 2018). I'm getting the side skirts and front splitter in Carbon Flash on mine (to match this option). Debating to do the Z06 "Stage 1" spoiler (in Carbon flash like the factory or change it to Arctic White (since I have body color vents) and add the "Stage 2" extensions.

I recall from my 4 years in Austin, it can get pretty chilly there too. The PSS starts going away pretty quickly below 60 degrees. Yes, you can baby it, but what fun is that?

Buy a second set of wheels for your snow tires. Send the rear ones in to be narrowed 2". Problem solved.

Not too many reasons for me to part with the 2014 Z51, but that would be one of them.

Must be a the wrong photo for the 2018 Stingray. The wheels on the 2018 look like the 2017 wheels. I heard all 2018's come with the 19/20 z51 wheels.

They're just using stock photos they've been using for years.

After GM updated the wheels on the 18 to the Z51 style, I know I've pared back on the Z51 orders. The bang for the buck on the base car is quite good now(always was just better without added cost). A non-MR Z51 makes for a fun and flexible track toy as you can change shocks out pretty inexpensively.

I would expect Z51 sales to dip a bit thru the 2018 MY. Great car none the less.

It's not just that. I much prefer the look of the narrow body.
