Default Cylinder Deactivation Not Working

Just noticed today, car stays in V8. Cylinder deactivation not working. Anyone had this issue?

I even tried putting drive mode in ECO and still all V8.

Thanks, I'll see of it goes back to normal later.

Meantime I have a message off to my Chevy service manager at the dealership to ask if this is covered under drivetrain warranty, since I am out of 36 mo. warranty.

Brother, sorry to hear you're having issues. I love my Active Cylinder Deactivation for road trips.

I put it in 7th gear and switch to ECO mode and I get 32 miles to the gallon.

So who needs it????? I don't "need" it, but I love having it for road trips!

First question...

It shouldn't matter. If he put it in Economy mode, it should work in an M7, which is the only mode it works in.

I don't think I'd be worry about it too much, unless you see a CEL.

Are you the original owner? It could have been removed with a tune if it were used...correct?

What you save in gas now, you'll spend in trans repairs later when out of warranty.

If not the original owner, it could be tuned out.
