Yes, this color was selected as a 2018 color back in 2015. Paint colors are usually set three years in advance.
Kai Spande brought a panel to his NCM presentation today that was painted in the new paint shop. It is a marked and significant improvement over the old paint shop finish capability. Keep in mind that Kai remarked that they are still fine tuning the process. The future looks bright! (This panel is painted Sebring Orange Tintcoat.)

It could just be the lighting from different angles, but in the above pictures, it appears to have less metal flake than DSOM. It's also not as different from DSOM as I expected. Lastly, in some pictures it looks more red, and in others more orange. The one where it's sitting in an Adrenalin Red interior, it looks red or maybe it's just that the interior looks orange in that shot . . . colors are tough to evaluate in pictures.
This is definitely not a color I'd feel comfortable ordering sight unseen. I won't be one of the first ordering in Oct even though I am an orange freak. Gotta see it in person.

Touch color to pick an interior color with other than black.
Great pictures of the choices.

I like it... actually looks orange in any light, unlike Inferno or Daytona Sunrise that need full sunlight to not look brownish.

Jeremy, it seems as though the Sebring Orange is not as "deep" of a color as DSOM. What were your impressions?

I had no idea colors were picked out 3 years in advance and it takes that long to get a color into the palette that customers can choose from. I wonder if we will start seeing a little more "wilder" colors, as thats been something a few have requested here and there since the c7 came out. Brighter colors might bring in younger buyers and guys that really want a flashy car etc etc....

According to my research this paint code WA418C has never been used before by GM.

Brownstone interior and convertible top would be pretty sweet w/ that color, but that interior color has been discontinued, and they've not offered a Brownstone top yet on the C7. I can hope.

On the old-style, non-insulated, vinyl convertible tops, white was an option because the vinyl was easier to clean, but even so, they often looked dingy after a few years. A white fabric top of the type used today would be an unmitigated nightmare.
