Default Grand Sport strikes again, Autocross Cow Palace

Took my GS to the Santa Cara Corvette club auto cross event at the Cow Palace in Daly City CA. First time autocrossingy Vette and second ever autocross. I had the top time in the morning event, beating out a fast Z06 and a GTR on A7 slicks! I'm still on my shot rear tires from Buttonwillow that have no grip. I was an oversteering fool! So much fun. Best run was 51.1 seconds. I'm about to start the separate afternoon event, but I'm told I don't get to compete as I know the course. Afternoonwill just be an attempt to beat my time. God dam I love my Grandsport!

No sir, I ran out of rpm on the straight to upshift. Tried shifting to third and lost time.

Kinda figured that. I've run several and I start out and stay in 2nd gear. I have an A8.

I'm glad you enjoyed our Auto-X.

Santa Clara Corvettes meets monthly in Los Altos and participates in numerous events (Auto-X, car show and social).

On September 17 we'll hold our 41st annual Corvette Spectacular on Main Street in Los Altos. Main Street will be blocked off to car traffic so people can enjoy the 175 or so Corvettes, shops, restaurants, live music, raffle, etc. Did I mention Corvettes? ;-)

Here's our Website: http://sccorvettes.org

Here's information about Corvette Spectacular: http://sccorvettes.org/corvette-spectacular/

Congrats on your win. I used to occasionally visit the "Palace Of Fine Cows" when I lived in the East Bay for 30 years. You had one heck of a turn out it appears.

I was not able to beat my time in the afternoon session. I was running consistent 51's at the end. A nicely driven and set up C6 ran a 50.7 in the afternoon and grabbed the fasted official overall lap of the day. I will defiantly be attending more events like this. Crazy amount of fun for $45!
