Default Just a picture of my car and the once largest Corvette Dealers lot.

Just took a ride today and pulled into the empty lot that at one time was the "Worlds Largest" Corvette dealer. Yes, believe it or not... in the late '60's Palmyra Motors was the largest Corvette Dealer anywhere! I remember visiting it often when I was a teen. Today the owners daughter Kitty Van Bortel is building on her father's Corvette legacy right down the road from here. I believe she is ranked 26th in the nation for Corvette sales.

I used to visit Palmyra Motors frequently in the late 60s - early 70s. They were also a Rolls-Royce dealer . . . not that the sales staff appreciated a young twentysomething drooling all over the new Silver Shadows. I did score a few Rolls-Royce brochures, though, that I still have.

Never got a Rolls Royce brochure from them, but I do remember seeing several new Roll's in the very same lot that I took the picture in.

The once showroom that housed Corvettes and Rolls Royce.

I also did that around the same time frame, but I was too focused on the Corvettes to even care about the RR.
I eventually bought a new C3 in 1972, (MSRP...$6200) but it was from a dealer that was closer in the city of Rochester.
It was nice, but looking back, I always wished I had waited on the LT-1 that was on option in the Vette at the time.

My late cousin said the same thing. He ordered a 1970 350/350 convertible and years later wished he went for the LT1 for an extra $290 over the 350/350 engine option. He did own this car for 39 years till his death in 2009.

Congrats on your new ride, it's a beauty.
IMO Van Bortel is the best dealer in the Rochester area, bar none. And it all starts with the owner, Kitty Van Bortel. I've met & dealt with her over the years & I can't say enough good things about her. If you ever have a problem or issue that isn't resolved to your satisfaction, she will get involved. Because contacting her is as easy as picking up the phone or sending an email from the contact info given to anyone who buys a new vehicle from any of her dealerships.
What other owners can you say that about? None that I know of, unless you happen to be good friends with them.
