You won't believe what the dealer did to my car!
Took my car in for its first oil change. Honestly, if it wasn't free, I'd do it myself, but I hate to pass up $60 worth of free stuff. This is what happened:
Before they did anything, the service guy walked around the car checking for damage. I signed the form acknowledging that there was no visible damage. They took the car, and I went to wait in the lounge area with free coffee and water. No bagels.
It took over an hour before I got the car back. It was returned to me undamaged, no oil or grease on the interior, no body panels were broken or cracked and the crankcase was full (but not overfilled) with new Mobil 1 synthetic oil. And it didn't cost me anything.
It's absolutely unbelievable! After all of the warnings and stories that you read here, it's incredible that both my car and myself emerged unscathed from this experience!

Yeah, yesterday I had a 3rd free oil change at the dealer on my dry sump LT1, since I've owned it.
- As usual, they did not crack the rockers and lifted from my leave-in pucks
- As usual, they added 9 quarts only of Mobil 1 from quart containers because I told them to
- As usual, they provided me w/ the 10th quart to bring home as I requested
- As usual, the level was exactly in the middle of the high and low marks once home
- As usual, no additional oil was necessary, and I now have 3 extra quarts of Mobil 1

Nice...wish the dealer I took mine to had studied those same methods for proper fill levels, cleanliness, and customer service (i.e. not forgetting that I was setting there waiting for it ). No permanent body damage at least.
Back to doing my own from now on!

I just had my 500 mi oil change from Boardwalk in Redwood City. They are one of the largest Vette dealers in the country - I estimated they had more than 100 in stock in their Vette room. They did a perfect job as far as I can tell and seemed like pretty good guys to boot. I won't have a problem bringing it back for the next 2 included changes. After that, I'll do it myself.

I can't say mine is a 5-star dealer, but they do know how to follow explicit instructions on simple matters like oil changes. They're not so good in other areas, and I wouldn't use them for a major repair. Fortunately, I haven't had to.

I'm going to Hendrick in Cary, NC next week. They did the first oil change, no problems and a Corvette Tech did the work. I've asked for a Corvette Tech again. I'll report back after the change is complete.

It's nice to hear not all experiences are bad, but for the money we spend on these cars, we should not have anyone having a bad dealer experience. Still a crapshoot and I'm still gonna change my own oil. I wouldn't take it to the dealer for oil changes even if oil changes were free forever. Not worth the anxiety and being stuck in a waiting room.

They probably filled it with Dexos.

You obviously went to the wrong dealership if you wanted the CF Experience.
Glad your dealership did the job the way it was supposed to be done. There are very competent dealerships out there, regardless of what horror stories you may read about here. I have complete trust in the one I use.

I took my '17 to Momentum Chevrolet in San Jose, CA for the first oil change and the airbag recall. All the settings were ok and the car was washed when I got it back. No problems.

Great experience with my dealer too. I did some research via local groups/forums and found a dealer who was highly recommended to work on Vettes.
