I just picked up a 17 Z and am having a hell of a time finding any info on paring a marantec m4500 garage door opener... I'm not even sure if the C7 uses a car2u or homelink system? I know the C6 used car2u. I'm about to buy a visor remote but would really like to get the vettes built in remote working! Any thoughts?

I had an old Marantec (came with the house in 2004) and never got it to hook up with the homelink in my 2016 Vette or the 2014 Ram that I traded. Sprung for a decent Genie + install last year and finally got it paired. Even that took a while until I read a tip on Genie's site.

I'm pretty sure the C7 uses homelink.

Thanks for the replies. I was afraid there would be no way to get it to work and that seems to be the case... I may just have to buy a second remote, ah well.

If you've used this opener for a while and have used multiple remotes, that may be your problem. Genie openers have a limit on the number of remotes that can be synched with the opener. When I tried to program my Vette with the Genie it would not work until I reset the opener.

I actually managed to get it to work! I had to hold down both buttons for over 20 seconds, once I did, it actually took the programming. Someone put up a youtube video on how to get it to work consistently it was a lifesaver.
