Jagamajajaran, Maybe you can help me out here-

In response to a specific question, they still continue to be somewhat vague about their paint transition schedule or sequencing.

Based on best information available at the time, I chose Arctic White because it sounded like it would be the first existing color to transition to the new paint shop. It was actually my second choice as Watkins Glen had edged it out, but I knew I would still be totally satisfied with Arctic White.

I had to make an assumption at that time that when the plant started back up in November, the new paint shop would be operational (otherwise they would not start back up) and they had to be painting something in it and as AW was mentioned as the first color, then all cars ordered as AW would be painted in the new shop.

Can you shed some light on whether when the plant starts back up, will ALL Arctic White ordered cars be painted in the new paint shop?

They are perfectly clear about Sebring Orange being that way and they are clear that the other colors will be transitioned based on popularity with them being painted in the old shop until they are transitioned.

I ask because my order has not yet been submitted to the factory and if I can't guarantee that AW is going to be painted and that it will be a crap shoot, I may want to change to Watkins Glen.

I value your assessment!

The only color that is guaranteed to be painted solely in the new paint shop after production resumes is Sebring Orange. White and yellow will be the first two colors to be painted in the new shop, and while the large majority of these two colors will be painted in the new shop, there is a slight possibility that some white and yellow cars will receive panels painted in the old shop initially. The reason for this is that if the new paint shop has any longer than a two hour shutdown during initial production, the entire assembly line would have to be shut down. To prevent this, some white, yellow, etc., panels will be available in storage to prevent the entire line from being shut down in this scenario. Eventually, the new paint shop will build up a supply of panels, but this will evidently take some time.

I would be waiting for atleast 6 months of 2018 production before putting my order down, let them iron out the bugs first. And there will be, always is with a new production line.
