I recently took delivery of a 2018 Stingray. I had it at the dealer for a minor fix to the stripes from the factory. While at the dealer, I asked if they would lower it and do a realignment. The dealer contacted GM about this. Later, the GM Brand Manager called the dealer and told them that the warranty on the suspension would be voided if I lowered the car. I understand that the brand manager said that cracking in the spring could result. Anyone have any insight into this issue?

Never heard of one when lowered on the stock bolts other than cracked splitters, etc. from ground contact, but that's not a warranty covered item anyway.

YMMV, but lowering it is the last thing I would want to do. It already scrapes coming out of a parking lot or over a speed bump. Slow and angled helps reduce this, but it does not eliminate it. I can't imagine what would happen if it were lowered even more. Why do you guys want to do this?

My only issue (that may need to be publicized) is that GM will apparently void the warranty on the suspension if lowered. I have owned every generation since my first C3 and lowered them all. I never knew there would be a potential warranty issue.

The scraping issue isn't that big of a deal, it's only scraping the plastic air dam up front, and if it's bothersome, remove that air dam.
I plan on lowering my C7 as low as I can go with the aftermarket lowering bolts that I have already bought, but I have also instructed the dealer not to install the plastic air dam when my car arrives off the transport truck. So I don't anticipate any problems even at a much lower ride height from stock. My C6 is as low as it can go on stock bolts and the only thing that scrapes is the plastic air dam.

Clearly, if you cut bumpers or replace components to get the car lowered, you'd be ripe for a warranty block on suspension.
But a block just for turning the factory adjusters within their normal adjustment range? Not happening.

For me it's not so much the distance at the bottom of the car but the huge gap between the top of the tire and the fender. When I see new C7s on dealer's lots, that gap is usually around 4 fingers. For my liking I would prefer it to be closer to one finger gap (my C6 has about a two finger gap right now). If you go on the Chevy website, take a lot at the images they have for the C7 and almost all of those cars sit lower than the ones that come out of the factory.

FYI just checked the gap. Both front and rear are about 2-1/2 fingers. 3 won't fit and 2 is very loose. It's a vert, f that makes any difference.

So I guess I'd actually like my C7 to have a little bit less than one finger gap up front and about one out back, that will be my goal once I get the lowering bolts installed.
