I have two sets of polarized sun glasses (regular glasses, not prescription eyewear); one works fine with the HUD in my Z06 and ATS and the other results in a washed out HUD display in both. The proper polarized glasses work fine but I am not sure how proper is defined in any way that lets you know without testing whether your particular glasses will work well. I expect in addition to polarization some of those designed with additional filtering for some light wavelengths will also cause a dim or low contrast view of the HUD.

I'm also using polarized, prescription, progressive lens sunglasses from Costa. No problems seeing the HUD.

I have both and non polarized work better for me. Both are Ray Ban. It depends on the lense and how they orient the polarization. The Ray bans work ok, I have another pair that virtually eliminates the display.

No problem at all. I did experience some visibility issues on my BMW with the LED readouts. None in the vette.

I have oakley polarized that I purchased before the car. They make it difficult to see the HUD. Had I bought the car first, I would not have gotten polarized. This is my first pair of polarized, and I never had issues with glare before, so I'm not sure why I even went with polarized.

non polarized will make a small difference with the C-5.
I believe that the ride height of the driver does affect the HUD view ability.

The C-7 HUD is much improved.
If the ride height is bad you can always move the hud position on the windshield to fit you needs.

How is it risking your eyesight? UV blocking is not the same as polarization. Both polarized and non polarized lenses may or may not have UV blocking.

I have two pair of polarized, clip on and Wiley X. I can see the HUD on my Corvette and XT5 very well, although whiter with the polarized than my clear glasses. All are progressive as well.

A couple of years ago I had a loaner SRX that I could not see the navigation screen with my polarized glasses. That is the only issue in all of the cars I have had from GM and Honda. I now make a point of trying a car with my polarized glasses before accepting delivery from the dealer.

Same situation for me. The C5 HUD is next to impossible to see in the sunlight with a polarized lens. The C7 can be seen but not as well as without the polarized lens.

Just got a pair of polarized.. Dulls the Hud a little. The thing I don't like it makes my screen on my phone look 3Dish and the rainbow color changing through the window is annoying too..

Not impressed with them overall...

I have Raybans and I can see the hud fine. I did have to turn the brightness up a little bit but that's to be expected since they are sunglasses.

I use non-polarized clip-ons. However, I find the Chevy implementation of HUD to be distracting, so I turn it off entirely. On the C7, I saved myself a bunch of money and got the 1LT and now I don't have to bother with turning it off.
