Default Dripping Scalding Noise?

Is it normal when you turning off you engine after a warm drive that for a short time you hear some type of dripping noise that when you hear the liquid drop, it hits some type of hot part that promotes a small scalding noise. Disappears rather quickly after 5 or ten minutes. Thanks in advance.

Yep. Rumor has it some person at Chevy didn't like pools of AC water on their garage so the AC unit drips on the headers so the water will evaporate. Not sure if that's actually true, though it's what is happening. Scared me the first time I heard it.

Ya know, that makes a lot of sense actually. My caddy does it, and my Bonneville did it.
