Firefox is a great solution to adware. Also consider installing CCleaner. It removes most of the tracking cookies and things that annoy you when you browse the web, ie.pop-ups, un wanted ads, and redirects.

I have Firefox on her iPad, still getting hammered. Only way out is double click firefox, swipe it off the screen and then go back in. If she is using Safari, double clicking and swiping doesn't do squat as the popup is still on Safari after you reopen it. Safari requires going into settings and removing data which wipes out ALL of her stored passwords. She is not a happy Grandma!
I even added an APP that is supposed to stop Ads, well Purify doesn't stop squat!

I don't think Ccleaner or malwarebytes will work on the iPhone or iPad.

Non of your linked threads solve the problem. We're not having issues on PC (desktop or laptop). This is on iPhone and iPad.
I've been scouring the internet for two weeks for a solution and no joy on the search. It seems that according to the iPhone folks, this can't be happening on their iDevices. Well, don't look now, but it's happening.
