My C6 had the Dual roof option and only used the Clear top.
My C7 only came with a Solid top, but bought a Clear top at a discount from the dealer before driving it home.
I like the clear top best, but used the solid top for a road trip to Florida and back, and glad I did

My C5 had two roofs and I liked it. Transparent on from November to end of April, Painted from May through October. With the hot sun here in NC, the transparent roof just doesn't work well. The C7 came with a painted roof. I'll be buying a transparent roof in the near future.

Limerock Green with painted and tinted top
I use the tinted top for traveling in the Fall and Spring.
Originally I was concerned about having more wind noise with the plastic top but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

I had two for my C6 ... changed them out once in 10 years. I sold the second roof that came with my C7 back to the dealer before I took delivery!

My car came with the painted only. My wife bought me the clear top for my birthday last month. I have it on now. I'll switch back to the painted in May when it gets hot again.

Have both on the C6, rarely switch from the transparent (not my choice) - easily made my choice to go body color only on the C7. The only other option I would do would be the exposed carbon. Might pick that up one day but isn't high on my to do list.

I have two tops and swap them out depending on the weather.
I daily mine and I might have not driven it 2 or 3 days in the year I've had it. I've found if its above 85 the transparent top lets in too much heat so its nice to be able to swap the two out. If I could only have one the solid top would be what I would go for though the transparent is really nice come rain as it helps me with my top off addiction.

Bought the transparent top as my dealer inventory car did not have it and have not used my solid top since as I like the more open feeling. Paid $900 for it shipped from a forum member and haven’t looked back. Figure if I ever sell the car i’ll Just put the solid top back and make my money back selling the transparent top.

I have both the clear and the exposed carbon-fiber roof panels. I use both of them, switching out whenever I want a different look. I enjoy the extra light that enters the cabin with the transparent one, but also like the feeling of a more enclosed cockpit with the other. Plus I like the way the exposed c/f panel looks with the painted 'spears' along the edges.

1) Changes the look of the car
2) Changes the general feel of the car on the inside, solid roof makes the car feel more cozy, transparent makes it feel more open
3) Warmth. In winter is actually quite nice having the sun shine in and warm the car up
4) Heat. In summer it's quite nice to have the solid roof block the sun
5) Because we can. I can't think of another car built that has this option and flexibility.
The second roof is pretty easily stored in the house. No reason to not get it and have the option to change things up

Transparent top only. Don't like the closed in feeling with the solid top.
Never a problem with cabin getting hot in the summer.

Love having a 2nd. Using the transparent most of the time, but like having the painted for the summer heat.

Just one. Had a transparent way back when on a C4. SUCKS in Texas for a daily driver. Never again.

I love having two tops. I only use the transparent top for two months a year but I really it. If I could only have one it would be the carbon fiber body color top as it’s way hot here. Nice having both.

I'm planning to order a 2019 Z06 and I'm going to get the two roof option. I live in FL and a few friends of mine have the dual roof option and love it. They use the transparent roof mostly between November and April when the sun isn't as high in the sky and then the solid roof during the hotter summer months when the sun is directly over head. It also helps keep the cabin cool, especially when parked. Plus, I'm keeping my C5 vert so I will have the convertible option as well.
From a looks perspective, I prefer the solid painted top, especially when matched with tinted windows. I like the darker wrap around look, especially on Arctic White. The glass top definitely blends in better with black, gray, and the darker colors.
