And this is better than just getting a GS, how?

I see your point, however, there is a level of satisfaction one gets by doing a project themselves or exactly the way they envision it. This is likely not the economical way, but more satisfying

GS was not available when I bought my Stingray and a GS does not have a complete look of the look the Z06 and still cheaper to do it the way I am doing it based on the original purchase price of my car - got a great deal from the great folks at Macmulkin

Nice job.

BUT I never understood this wide body deal... I mean I park next to a Z06 everyday and honestly the average person couldn't tell the difference between the two. The only thing that people say is "I like the bigger spoiler on that one" and people that can tell the difference some like the sleeker lines of the stingray like myself.

Great build but damn that's a lot of work!

I here yah but I see a huge difference in the widebody and luv the nickel pearl Z06 wheels - great looking wheels

From what I have seen most are taking quite a hit in re-selling so I rather not take the hit and will be very happy with the Z06 look with out the huge price tag - this being my last vette played a big part in my decision to do this - 6 figure cars out of my price range

I bought my 2014 Z51 4 weeks ago knowing the widebody conversion and purchase price of my car will be the same as buying a used GS. But I won't have to be concerned about torque converter problem with the a6 transmission. I'm not worried about holding value because I plan on keeping my car for 15 years.

Do you plan on doing a conversion - if so good luck -

As for more pics not sure if tires will be done in time before body shop closes - well see not much to report just the rockers are jammed now and body parts are in spray booth now getting painted

Best of luck with your conversion. I have a feeling it is going to look great when completed.

I was thinking about this kit.

https://acscomposite.com/collections...-w-rear-bumper

As I'm not sure about cutting the rockers.

Can anybody recommend what to do if I don't want to touch the OEM Z51 rockers.

but still interested in the Z06 wide body OEM conversion with everything and the functional Z06 lower rear rocker that cools down the brakes

Only you can decide which direction to go

We have a problem Houston tire shop could only get the rear Z06 tires to seat - they are having a real hard time with the fronts told me tomorrows another day not feeling to comfy about this and concerned they will damage them - always something

Charging by the hour oh boy not my fault they cant get them seated

Got to tire shop thinking I would have to bring them elsewhere - but they were good to go - nice

Kenwood tire in Bridgewater, MA. are the guys - another place would be May's Tire in Bridgewater also that was my next place to try - not many guys around that want to attempt these tire installs

Whats with the fronts do I need a Z06 front fenders to get the Z06 oem wheels??

I like the regular fenders more than the Z06/ grandsport

Yes you need new front fenders to match up with new rocker panel

Cost for mine was about 5200.00 all new GM parts, 1800.00 for paint & working the body panels. Cost of your wheels of what ever you want. I did all my labor.
I got the 3rd quote today and paint and labor all the quotes were between $5200-$5500. It appears that they all use the same quoting software but the totals were similar but the total hours varied from 121 -180 hours but the cost was withing $300 so go figure. LOL

please let me know if you purchase, as I have been looking at the same ACS kit (only not convertible version).

If possible you could go with more of a stock size wheel up front and go big/Z06 size in back?

to be honest I don't want to cut neither touch the side rocker panels.

If i was in the states it would be waaaaymuch easier I live in Qatar tge other half of the world I dont trust our dealer over here with their lack of information and experience in body work.

Anything beyond a regular service will be a headache.

My question was weather the oem Z06 wheels will fit and not look ugly with the stingray fenders?
