Default Do You Enjoy Cleaning & Detailing?

I do.

I wash my cars in the garage, door open. Lots of neighbors stop by, and there's always the, "I'll bring mine over next" comments. One neighbor stopped by yesterday as I was finishing up on the wax. He asked how I can spend hours washing and detailing my car "all the time". It kinda threw me a bit, it was almost like he thought I was wasting my time.

I find it a bit therapeutic working my way around the car, and here's nothing better for me to see the end result of my work. It is a bit mindless, you don't have to think about anything in life that is stressful, and I like that. I find it relaxing just going through the steps, and not worring about all the small things. I've also found issues with various cars while detailing them. Loose trim, missing fasteners, tire issues, etc.

So is it just me, or do you enjoy cleaning and detailing you Vette?

I used to, now I'd much rather be driving it than cleaning it.

Like you, I find it rather therapeutic. It's like muscle memory or something because I can do it without really having to think about it. Since my GS Vert isn't here yet, I currently have my "therapy sessions" with my Harley. I can spend hours peacefully detailing that thing. I'm sure the GS will be even more "therapeutic "

I detail my Vette when it is needed but can not say I enjoy it.

I know why for me, it's called perspective. I quit caring about what anybody else thinks about my car. I don't put it in any car shows. I don't care whether it's super clean or dirty as long as it's not filthy. I have better things to do with my time than spend hours detailing a car. I'd much rather be driving it on a twisty mountain road near here than cleaning or detailing it. I also came to truly realize that it's a Chevrolet, and it's depreciating the same whether it's detailed and sitting in my garage or whether I'm driving it.

C6 was more fun to wash and detail.

Nobody cares for your car like you do. If I were to pay someone to give my car the attention I do, I'd be spending a lot of $$.

I enjoy washing a fine automobile as long as it's mine.
I find it "therapeutic" as well.

I agree with the Dan the poster. It is often therapeutic and I do feel a responsibility that a Corvette should be clean at all times. Even though it is "just a Chevrolet" it is much more than that to me.

I always enjoyed it, hell I like sitting and looking at it afterward and having a beer
I look forward to it again. Hopefully soon.

It's like that scene from Gran Torino, Clint is having a beer on his porch looking at the car and says out loud "Aint she sweet". ....... yuup I get that .....

If I still enjoyed it, I would still be buying black cars, now I buy colors that don't show the dirt, anything but black.

Default As with a lot of what we do.....

...one can value the process (almost?) as much as the end product....

Yes I do enjoy detailing! I have found somethings that make it quicker and easier such as Master Blaster for drying and detailing chair with wheels makes doing the wheels much more easier on back.

Enjoy? Nope.
One reason I don't like to drive it in bad weather is not because I don't want to get it wet, it is because it is too hard to get it all cleaned up again...
I do like it to look clean, but too much work to keep it spotless.
