Is that a vette or an El Camino?

The first ME doesn't HAVE to be a Corvette.
In case you are unaware, Coughlin also has a Cadillac dealership...
Either way, with all the hinting Mr. Conti just did it seems like an ME will arrive shortly on the scene.

My guess is no HP bump because the Z06 exists and the ZR1 is coming and now a mid-engine is coming. The Z51/GS already is at ~3.7 0-60, so any HP bump would likely not yield any performance increase. Any HP bump would be for marketing, and as it is now the engine is bulletproof. Why mess with it? Just my opinion.
Thanks Rick, for breaking the news here!

Rick, thanks for the info and spy shots. I am glad I don't have a 2018 on order. Think I would give my deposit to the dealer and let him keep the 2018. Guess you can get some real good deals on new 2017's now.

Rick, not that I'm doubting you, however if this is true, GM really pulled a boner by even taking 2018 orders prior to the plant shut down. Why not wait, make the changes, i.e. ZR1, etc. and release them as 2018s in January (gasp!) 2018?!

I don't see any reason to cancel my 2018 order. If there are no massive changes then my 2018 will be just fine and if there are massive changes that will also come with a higher price tag, something I also don't want. So either way I'm going to be happy. At some point every C7 owner is going to be faced with a newer and better version of what they have. But for me, I know I'm going to love my 2018, it's been a long time coming for me.

Here is another post from Rick Conti.
This means that 2018s will only have been built in June, July and November- three months.
What genius dreamed this crap up?
My order just made it to 3000 after being placed in August. That means my car is not likely to be built until December if I read the tea leaves.
"With the announcement today of 2018 Corvettes order done 11/20/17 and 2019’s Start up on 11/30 ( production very end of January) I would be safe to say and speculate that 2020 is the year of the C8 generation Corvette."
WOW, STAY TUNED - take advantage of those close out deals right now gang!

There's an awful to of "crypticity" going on here, what with the long factory shutdown, etc. Really looking forward to learning about the '19's!

Agreed. That was a *ick move on GM's part. So, the 18 I bought in 17 will already be a model year old before the end of 17.

ZR1 released in 2018 and built as a 2019 for two years with the C8 debut in 2020.
