I appreciate the fact that the Corvette has kept it's weight down compared to other rear drive V8s. Just look at how bloated the Camaro and Mustang have become! I remember the days when a Mustang 5.0 LX coupe weighed just a tick over 3100 pounds. Now the V8 Mustang is 3700 pounds! The Camaro was never as light as that back in the 80s but it too weighs around 3700 pounds now.
I ordered my C7 as a 1LT not only to save money but to keep the car simple and lighter. I don't absolutely need heated/vented seats, heads up display, more speakers for my stereo (that I won't listen to often anyways), etc. Just give me the basic Corvette without all the added weight and price tag and I'll still be very happy.

All my new Corvette's have been 1lz or 1 lt! Heads up although I don't use it is on the 1LZ. Options lose about 95 percent of value in a a couple years. Stuff I never use. I do add the dimming rear mirror
snaps in for 135.00. Plus the cargo shade! Rest they can keep!

We interrupt the routine corvetteforum.com dick measuring contest to bring you the car fleet of Pcad, Corvetteforum Voice of Reason®:
The C7 is my daily driver, the Prius Prime (both 2017s) is my wife's commuter car. Then in the winter I drive her old 2011 Prius, the one with 145,000 miles. I think it's almost broken in (gold colored car in the photo below, ignore our dog Cody in foreground, he's ham, he has to be in every picture):
Performance is in the eyes of the beholder. The older Prius averages 45 mpg+ in the real world, mixed driving. The new Prius Prime is pushing nearly 80 mpg overall (it's a plug in hybrid with an electric only range of 25-28 miles). Driver's cars they are not. They drive like appliances. But for much of the driving we do they are perfect, safe, cheap to own and run and you can't kill the friggin cars.
Interesting side note: the Prius is cheaper to insure than the C7. Why you ask, the C7 costs twice as much. My insurance agent says the largest portion of your premium is your liability coverage, and Stingrays have a much lower accident rate than the Prius. I suppose older drivers, weekend cars, people that take care of them and all that are the reasons.

But wait there's more. This movie is the sequel to the original Pcad Automotive BiPolarity released in 2015:

I agree about options losing their value over time. When I key in the trade in value for my 2005 on the Canadian Black Book site (same as KBB I believe) the only thing they ask which adds value is if it has the 6 speed manual. When you do the same thing for newer cars, things like transparent roof and chrome wheels do add value but like you say, over time those things no longer matter after a while.

Exactly. When I bought my C6 GS, if it wasn't 3LT I would have passed it over. No way would I have settled for a 1LT. I almost passed it over because it didn't have mag ride.
You might not get your money back on options, but those options will help it sell better.

The basics of coupe or convertible, automatic or manual transmission are your starting points.
Building model, trim level and color combo follow closely, with equipment choices. Your best choice is equipping it as you desire, as that's what you're going to be living with day in, day out during ownership.

Do we know the MSRP on the 2019s yet? (I know they announced the ZR1 pricing but I didn't hear about the others)

I can't see the inconsistency, what I mean to say is the C7 purchase price is twice the price of the Prius, yet the liability premium is like 30% less for the C7 than the Toyota, all because Corvettes have lower accident rates than Toyota Prius models. My wording might be confusing in the paragraph above, sorry about that.

Are we sure thec2019 will be identical to the 2018 ???
Yes I realize some be colors, and the 0w40 oil fill. However will there be any other changes?
I think to A10 is out, no chance. But will the GS get a bump in HP ? Will they change any panels, even suble changes. They did it with the C4, body panels had slightly different side vents from 94 to 96, and they changed the seat.
Are we sure they are the same???
And what about the ZO6, will it get any cooling changes??
The order guide gives no info in this regard.
Your thoughts ?

I believe what you see is what you get. The C7 is treading water until the C8 gets here a year from now. Production to begin in spring of '19 as a 2020.

If there were going to be any changes such as you suggest we would have most certainly heard about it by now. So I would say there is zero chance we'll see a bump in horsepower or any body panel changes to the 2019s. They've focused all their efforts on the ZR1 this year.
