Ticking sound on start up
Maybe i'm just paranoid but when the car is cold and I start it i hear a ticking sound(metal sound) in the engine bay. Lasts for maybe 5-10 seconds and goes away. Brand new 2018 GS. Is this normal? Thanks in advance

As Robert stated have it looked at since it goes away in a short time. The camshaft driven high pressure fuel pump also makes a distinctive ticking sound but it doesn't go away after a few seconds.

That is the reason I said what I did if it is the lifter it will go bad & you will have problems with it. Warr work for sure & don't let them talk to you & said it is good. Robert

Are you able to determine approximate area the ticking is coming from?
I've encountered exhaust/manifold leaks that will sound like a 'ticking' but quiets
quickly after exhaust heats up.
May help if you record/video from your phone and post here.
