That or they may just come out with the 2020's in January of 2019.

On top of that, the ceramic matrix gray color has not been very well received. It was anticipated to be one of, if not the absolute lowest volume color for 2018.
Fast forward just a few short months and here we are in a situation where there is a very real possibility that ceramic matrix could be the most popular color for 2018.
Given that there are guaranteed to be 650 carbon 65's, plus whatever numbers the color was ordered in across the rest of the line up. When you divide by a paltry 9,600 projected cars produced in 2018, there is a very real chance that the "take rate" could be well into the 20%+ range for ceramic matrix.
Who woulda' thunk it
And just like that we did a complete 180°
I just saw my luck flash before my eyes brother.

I'm okay with that. Other than date of mfg. tens of thousands of C7s are basically the same.

Yes, and pretty much viewed the same by the market. Resale value is primarily a function of condition, mileage, and whether there is remaining factory B2B and/or powertrain warranty.

I just went to KBB and priced out the trade-in value of an identical (mileage, equipment, condition, etc.) '14 and '15, and the difference in value was $883.

The carbon 65 really looks sharp and has every option ticked off. Because of that it will always be in high demand. I have #171. And the fact it's limited number in a limited year now will make it even more desirable. But really the look is what people want.

its like those 1978 pacecars and anniversary editions...there are quite a few out there but they just look good. Many people want em and they pay way more than other cars from the same generation that are basically the same.

and what exactly will be gained? buying a car to speculate on its being rare does not exactly translate into a good investment decision. I would think it makes more sense to by a car based on the colour and specifications that I love and would enjoy over the longer term.

I think in the rush to get the C5 to market, they didn't have time to develop the convertible fully so it had to wait until 1998.

The '97 MY started late as the C5 was a completely new Corvette. It was designed as a convertible to begin with but, convertibles didn't make it till the '98 MY.

I personally believe they (gm) didn't want too many 2018 new paint shop C7's on dealer lots next to old paint shop C7's.

imagine having an old paint shop black or red etc and in the service lane is a new paint shop of same ilk that makes yours look like GM painted it with a brush? Lol

plus added bonus of ALL ZR1's will be from the new shop justifying the 125k starting price for a 1ZR.

jist my $.02

only downside is what a Long run the 2019MY will be lol.

If my Torch Red 2018 gets painted in the new shop (and according to the article posted by the NCM last week it's supposed to be) that could make mine part of an elite group of 2018s. Not that it will be more valuable, but a cool conversation starter nonetheless
