Winter Tires for OEM Z51 Wheels
I am looking at winter tires for my Z51 oem wheels 19 front, 20 rear.
On the Oem wheels, can we go 1 size up for the sidewall/aspect ratio?
So stocks are 245/35 fronts and 285/30 rears
On stock car height, can i go 255/40 front and 295/35 rear?
Has anybody done that?
I know i can go 255 and 295, but my main concern is the sidewall/aspect ratio.

Very helpful. You need to maintain the same diameter, and you can only stretch/shrink a tire so much over the same wheel width (solution would be to get different width winter wheels).
Car will behave the same as long as diameter does not change. If diameter does change significantly, speed and all the stability nannies will not work right.

If you're looking for snow tires, you'll have a hard time finding those sizes. A narrower tire is better for snow than a wider one, and with the example you gave, they would be wider which isn't a good way to go.
We get (on average) about 23" of snow a year in Reno. I ran the UHP Continental Extreme Contact DSW 06 tires on my 2015 Mustang GT and loved them. I've already switched to these tires on the Vette, and they were available in the same size as my factory Michelins. I purchased a kit with a can of tire gel and compressor in case of a flat since these are non runflat tires. Same thing I had in the Mustang GT since you get no spare tire if you have the factory 20" wheels which mine had.

I mounted Pilot Alpine PA4's on my Z51 and kept the factory sizes. They work great.

I stayed close to the diameter as much as possible! Bought some nice 295/30 winter tires!
Rear wheel/fender gap is more than the front, so a bigger sidewall is also possible, 35. But i still went with 30.
