Good point.
Buyers should inspect their car's paint closely before signing the check.

The ZR1 will more than likely go on sale in February (by April at the latest). The reason for moving all the cars to 2019, is that GM has decided to NOT release the ZR1 as a 2018 for a few months just to roll it to a 2019.
I think you hit the nail on the head. According to the owner of my Chevrolet Dealership, the ZR1 will be unveiled in April, in Las Vegas.

Ronnie,
That's exacting what my hopes are right now. I darn sure want a C8 convertible, and I absolutely will only buy a manual.

If, either of those two criteria aren't offered on the new C8, I would sure as h#ck like to know right now, so I could still order a built-to-order new 2018 or 2019 C7......

That would be very surprising to me.

Every time tax cuts have been tried in my lifetime, it results in more revenue to the Treasury because of economic activity. And even Corvette sales are tied to that.
It also results in far more revenue because the percentage of GDP that is collected in taxes goes up slightly with reform (Reagan's top rate was 31%); and then we get Clinton (36% rate) and Obama (39.6% + 3.8 on investments (43.4%). Tax reform without a plan to limit its share of GDP is nothing more than subjecting more of your income to ever rising and higher rates - in the case of those from NY, it is far in excess of 50% when you include: federal (39.6), state (8.75%), local (4.25%), SS (6.2%) & Medicare (1.9%).

Excuse my ignorance here as I've been away for awhile. What is the significance of a new paint shop? I see this mentioned alot "I would rather wait to have mine painted in the new shop"...

I think a Las Vegas reveal would be surprising as well. But then again, they do sponsor a big track outside of Vegas that could make for a very interesting and fun press event :-)

Long Island is a great place.....! It has everything. A park in every community, great beaches, wineries, farmlands, excellent access to NYC, fantastic food, LIRR, LIE, GCP, Belt Parkway, Robert Moses Causeway, excessive taxes, flooding on the south shore, snow, ice, hurricanes, overbearing zoning laws, the Mets, highest insurance rates on the East Coast. Wait...did I say LI is a great place!?

I take that back!....

Last December I was able to get 20% off MSRP plus GM incentive of $2000 off current vette owners. Purchased from a dealer in NE. That was the best deal I could find at the time. Base Stingray, A8 with NPP.

I'm not sure if you're serious, but assuming you are, GM just completed a major overhaul and expansion of the Bowling Green facility. One of the key points of that overhaul is the implementation of a new paint facility designed to reduce orange peel that has occurred on many Corvettes. I don't know the particulars of the change, but that's the big picture. The new paint shop is being implemented over a period of time by colors. So some colors will remain in the old paint facility for a while. Last I saw, the old facility will be gone by the end of 2018. The new facility is starting up in November when production resumes.

No deductions doesn’t equal no lobbyists. We’ll still have ****-stupid things like letting the coal industry write the regulations around coal pollution.

Its not hard for them to get rid of inventory if they really wanted them gone... They can just dump them at the auto auctions.

Amen! Everyone would have "skin in the game", and the government would actually feel pressure to shrink & spend w/in their means. (Which is why they will never do it.)

It's amazing to me how many otherwise intelligent people have never grasped that concept. I wonder how much of the cost of a Corvette is corporate taxes built into the price?

There are several plans floating around. Which one we'll get if any, who knows. But even if we just hold what we have, we're ahead of what Hillary wanted, which was big increases.
