I always change my oil before storage (why leave old oil in there). A typical driving year for me is 5-6 months and about 4,500 miles. That always worked out well till they came with that quick count down while the vehicle is stored now!
Now on my 7 Vette and been a gear head since the early 1960s and that is the way I always put a vehicle away, along with a few other things. (save that for another thread)

Thank you Jag. The most helpful forum member award, yet again goes to you sir. I’ve learned a lot about my vette from your very detailed posts. The fuel makes lots of sense, the oil however, building mosture for months, then driving it all season, im having a hard time wrapping my head around that. I guess I’ve done it my way for a long time, right before my cars come out of storage.

I'm always glad to provide information that I have found helpful. I trust Paul Koerner 100%, but I don't store my Corvettes, really, so I don't worry about these issues.

I thought I would get an even split of opinion on whether to get an oil change before putting it into storage.
There are great points made on both sides. On one hand, leaving even slight dirty oil to collect in the bottom of the oil pan really bugs me. Then again even changing, "oil life monitor will drop 42% in 5 months of sitting. You will come out of storage showing 58% oil life left without having driven a mile.".
I think one of the best advise is to simply change the oil just before putting it into storage this way the oil will need to be change the same time each year. Problem solved.
My thanks to everyone who participated in the poll.
P.S. I say a split opinion from the poll because I combined results of question 2 & 3 since both have to do with not changing the oil before putting it into storage.

Depends on how many miles are on the oil. If I changed it 2 months before, I'm not gonna change it to sit all winter. I take it out if I get a nice day (warm) during the winter and there's no salt on the ground.

Just try not to worry about that oil getting moisture in it, because you won't be driving all season long with that moisture still there. That moisture will evaporate the very first time you drive the car for 20-30 minutes or more and get the oil good and warm.

Ya, I hear you. Best to do what works for you, and I’ll stick with what works for me.
