I have a 2016 Z51 Vert with 6500 miles. getting ready to store it for the winter.

Better check the sizes on your tires. I bet you will find the rear tires are larger than the fronts. Therefore, it is a bad idea to rotate them. Just kidding. Do not rotate them.

Do it. Side to side for both front and rear.

Someone said that the Owner Manual says they should be "rotated" side-to-side.

Yes, it does say that from side to side as they are not unidirectional.

Still, wondering if a good idea or not.

Yep, side to side. Certainly doesn’t hurt.

No swapping tires from side to side for me.

I would be more concerned with the alignment.

But, that is just me.

Do what you are ok with.

There seems to be a mixed bag of results from rotating side-to-side.

Some have reported good results, but I did it per the OM, and did NOT like the results. It felt floaty and like the car was no longer firmly attached to the road.

Needless to say I won't be rotating again. I will rely on frequent alignments to ensure even and long tire wear.

I've rotated from side-to-side a couple of times with no perceived differences felt. Not only that, when I swap my OEM summer set with my winter all season set, I haven't kept track what came off which side, so I guess I'm also randomly rotating with no ill effects. Both sets are wearing evenly.

I just rotated mine. The tires were wearing evenly enough so there was no significant difference in sides, but will still help even them out.

Used my handy-dandy tire dolly.

I don't need to rotate mine, They wont last 7500 miles!

My plan with the wide tires on the Grand Sport is to rotate at 5000 miles for uniform tire wear. The tires are not directional but are assemetrical. This is visible in the different outermost tread width inside and outside. There are other differences in side wall reinforcement as well. They are labeled as outside on the tire. Therefore just swap side to side. If having a flat fixed, be sure they are remounted with that label out!

Have a small concern about reverse of tread that was with original steel belted tires. It is a none issue with current tire technology. However hope there is no balance difference with my now perfect situation!

All of my Corvettes so far have had different sized front to rear tires and directional, so rotating really wasn't an option. I actually preferred the fact that the rears wore out quicker because I was only ever buying 2 tires at a time, so it wasn't as expensive. I'd go through about two sets of rears before needing one set of fronts.

With other cars that take the same size front/rear, I have honestly almost never rotated the tires on those cars, in my 31 years of driving. And for the most part I've been lucky, I have found that all four tires wore out evenly and I have rarely had any alignment issues either (and I can count on one hand the number of times I have actually gotten an alignment done on any of those cars)

I'm not necessarily saying to be like me, but for some reason my lack of maintenance in regards to tires hasn't been costly for me.

I think it's a waste of time.

I got 32K miles out of my tires without rotation before buying new tires. Alignment if far more important.

Same with my previous five (5) Corvettes no rotation in 700,000 miles and 27 years of owning Corvettes.

Never knew it was recommended and never rotated tires on my Corvettes and tires have worn evenly.
Only reason I see to rotate tires side to side is almost all exits are right hand turns.
So depending on how one drives they might see the outer edge of the left front tire wear faster than the right one.
YMMV

I was told by a Michelin rep at Barret Jackson that rotating the tires from side to side will reduce road noise. His reasoning was that, over time, the tires become cupped which creates road noise. Swapping the tires side to side reduces cupping. If you rub your hand over the tread and it is smooth counterclockwise, but ruff clockwise, the tires are cupped and should be rotated.
