Intermittent Issue with Blinker Sounds

Intermittent Issue with Blinker Sounds
Anyone experience an occasional period where the blinker stops making that tick tock sound when flashing? It comes and goes randomly and I can't figure out what causes it. Doesn't seem to matter if I have the full automatic blink, the three blink burst or the hazard lights.

Same here. I also notice the chimes are fuzzy/distorted sometimes. Usually changes after a start/stop ignition cycle. Of course the sounds have been fine the couple times I've been at the dealer about other stuff and asked them to check it out...

I've never noticed a distorted sound, just no sound at all occasionally.

Mine does it too, and I *think* I know why.
It only does it when stopped, and when it's been flashing for awhile, around a minute or so. If you are moving, and leave it on accidentally, you'll get a chime letting you know you left it on (at least my CTS-V has a chime, I haven't tested the Vette yet). If you're stopped, this slight pause is probably where the chime would start. But, the computer knows you are stopped, so no chime. Just the slight pause, as the chime is basically on mute.
Seem legit?

I've had it twice now, but it was at least 6 months ago. The sound completely disappeared. I haven't had this problem since then.

Have a buddy w/ a similar issue. Normal sound, softer sound, no sound. No rhyme or reason. Random, so dealer diagnose was a non-starter
W/ no sound, he drove to the dealership to show and when opening the door and sound would return. Finally got to the dealership when it wasn't working and rolled down the window so they could hear lack of sound.
Had speaker replaced, and some other stuff associated w/ the blinker by dealer w/ no remedy.
Figuring it has to be electrical since it's random. Thoughts have ranged from a bad harness connection somewhere, to a clipped wire connecting and disconnecting.
Electrical issues are really tough to run down.

10 posts in and nobody has told the poor guy his blinker fluid is low?
On the serious side - mine hasn't done this, but this seems curious as to why it would come and go.
Wish mine would go. Having a quiet blinker would be great.

Same exact problem with my CTS VSport. I believe it is GM-wide.

FYI, the blinker sounds are overridden by any warning message that appears on your dash; e.g. door/hatch open, seat belt chime, freezing temps, low tire pressure, low gas, etc. To clear these messages, press the "SEL" button on the right side of your steering wheel. Once the warning message is cleared, the blinker sounds should return.

That's good information. Thanks, but it's not the issue. The blinking sound seems to stop intermittently during normal driving. It appears to be random.

That was what the dealership told me. I'm not 100% confident that this will fix my issue completely either but so far I haven't had the issue occur without a warning message on my dash. Good luck with your issue.

Sounds to me like you need to change your blinker fluid. Here's the place to buy such an item:

mine cut out completely, also no music out of the door speaker. replaced it, worked perfectly for a year. then had to replace the speaker again. Both speakers had high impedance voice coils (like 40+ ohms)
every time you open/close the door, it probably shakes the speaker damaging the voice coil.
