Potential issues from oil overfill?
Took my car into the local dealer (who did all the work on my previous C6) to get that first oil change last week. They have their own attached oil change place that I had used with the C6 with no issues.
I asked about oil changes on dry sump cars, they said they knew what they were doing. Drove the car about 300 miles over the weekend.
I'm going on a 1500 mile road trip over the holiday, leaving tomorrow, and from force of habit I did my usual pre-trip check on the car (what could be wrong with a new car, right?).
When I checked the oil it was about two inches over max on the dipstick.
Take it back to the dealer. watch them while the decide "yep. It's over filled"
Shop manager comes out and tells me that based on this they are now not doing corvettes in the oil change shop. They will have to go through the standard service department.
They have me watch the complete change process and show me what they are doing at every step of the way. They tell me no symptoms show from problems potentially caused by the mistake.
So what should I be watching out for? What could a 300 mile highway speed drive have potentially caused?

2 Inches is a lot over if ck. at over 170 degree's then wait 7 to 10 minutes.Clean stick recheck engine off.
Depending how long over and how hard it was driven the extra oil get's into your air filter and can limit it's function.Air filter should be checked.

The 300 miles I drove it were primary highway miles, no hard driving involved.
Will take a look at the air filter

They will no longer allow Corvettes to be done at their oil change center, only by the main Chevrolet service department by the Vette tech. He checked out my car, found no oil issues with the air filter or intake hose, and did discover that it was a half quart low, which he addressed.
Future oil change will be on an appointment basis with the Vette tech.

The oil change shop put in exactly 9.8 qts. Saw it was at the bottom of the acceptable range on the stick, and stopped. The Vette tech added the 1/2 quart to get it to the midrange on the stick.

9.8 quarts is full to the top dot when the OIL not coolant is warmed to 176 degrees. When I run my Z06 on the track I fill the oil a half quart over the full mark (total 10.3 quarts) which is the GM track prep recommended oil level.
The blue line on this picture shows the full point for the 10.3 quart fill. If the oil was filled to this level you definitely won't have a problem.
The last time I checked the oil when the engine was above 176 degrees oil temp level was right where the blue line is shown. I checked the cold temp oil level tonight and it is all the way down in the curved section of the dip stick several inches below the bottom dot on the dip stick.
