Is it just me or are there very few appealing aftermarket wheels for a C7

The Verona XO is definitely a nice looking wheel at a fantastic price but I just can't get over the fact that the offset on the rear is too far outwards. It needs to move in about 5mm, maybe 10.

It seems like a lot of GS/Z06 owners bend their rims too easily. I agree they look great but if they can't handle normal driving then what is the point. I heard some say it is because of the run flats or that they are too wide, however the C6 ZR1 seems to not have a problem. I believe GM went cheap to save weight/money.

Is the ZR1 wheel cast, btw?

I don't think there are enough miles on Zr1s to really compare. I looked through it all again this morning. Nothing stands out at me enough to justify $6-7k call in. In fact, I like most wheels LESS than OEM. I *may* go with Cray Brickyard but they don't come in gloss black- only matte :wtf:

I don't think mileage on the ZR1s (My friend's has 30k anyway) wheels matters much anyway since C7 GS/Z06 owners are bending them with ultra new miles.

Aftermarket wheels
Buy a DuPont registry or one of the custom car magazines with the high dollar custom rides and look at the wheel advertisers there. Lots of wheels but you have to decide what you think goes with your car.

You have a widebody OP, you should have far more options than I did with my Z51

I have the black cups and two cars so this would be a good look that I could swap out between cars.

anyone know the Cray Brickyard weights?

I think it is exaggerated quite a bit on the bending of the stock wheels. I drive a lot and have yet to bend a Corvette wheel. They are the same spec Corvette speedline wheels. ALOT of them out there!

we will see what the poll shows, but even then the numbers are skewed as it is only a small percentage of Corvette owners that are on the forum that will see the poll. I still tend to agree that its likely a bit exaggerated though..

16 Vettes and counting…..
Don't know the exact weights, but I've had several set of Crays and never had any issues. They are not light, however. Probably heavier than OEM depending upon the specific wheel.

I think the newer Cray designs, such as the "spyder" are some form of flow cast, which does make them considerably lighter.....not sure about strength, however.
I've never bent a wheel (knock on wood) but if I did, I'd probably suck it up and go with something custom forged.

Totally agree with OP. My 2000 C5 was an easy choice, CCW 505As, now I just don't know. I'm not in love with the factory wheels but nothing else has yet to make me say "Wow, yes, perfect!". The front runner for me is the factory 10-spoke blade Pearl Nickel aluminum wheels as talked about in this post: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...06-wheels.html

^^^ I like these as well, however I would like them more if they were side-specific directional. Since they are not, the drivers side looks different than the passenger side. At least to my eyes. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
