01/10/18 Update
So here is the installed product. Still designing the optional split grill carbon add on piece to cover up the center radiator duct, for those that don’t want a large opening. This hood is good to go though. Even drove it in crazy SoCal storm from my manufacture shop home and it was good to go in the rain. All vent and ducts are for maximum heat extraction with minimal water exposure to the engine bay.

I agree, but paint the wheels while you've got the paint out.

Red calipers and interior...I'm cool with the wheels because of that.

I'd be interested in seeing what the finished product does to temps on the track. I don't think I would daily drive that hood, but put it on for a track day...sure.

Hood looks incredible! As does the early TA (73-76?) in the parking lot.

Around 3000 shipped in carbon, maybe 6-800 cheaper for fiberglass.

Looks awesome! I can see where the design comes from
There are clear similarities, gills, bulge, mouth and everything!
But too many pics in the original post! Takes forever of scrolling

So, is there room under that hood to fit a bigger blower on the LT4? Or is the extra room just for show?

Stock Z06 hood with the liner removed has about 25mm of extra space. Plus this 25mm.. I think there will be plenty of room for big blower. If a blower needed an even higher dome, we can make a new mould rather quick.

The 2650 in the ZR1 is said to be 75mm more but that’s probably including the exposed engine carbon cover, from height of the engine cover on the ZR1, it looks pretty close to the height of this cowl.

Interesting, but I wonder about the open slots at the very back of the hood. If they are intended to remove engine compartment air they are where there is usually a high pressure area that wants to push air IN at that point and not draw it out.

I did wind-tunnel testing on my wife's B'ville racer with a very similarly shaped, raised hood and such was the case. One didn't have to get far above the hood surface to see it not do so, but along the surface it did. We closed off this area completely and the coolant temp at speed measurably dropped since there no longer was air trying to flow both ways into the engine compartment. Just curious.
