Top maintanance needed?
Does the power top require any kind of maintanance? Are there area's that need lubrication on occasion? Just curious.

I owned my previous 2007 Vert for 10 years, and never did a thing. It still worked fine the day I traded. But, a little lube wouldn't hurt a thing. That is if you can get to any of the mechanisms. I've never looked.

I haven't looked either but I'm thinking that everything is sealed or unaccessable to get any lube to.

My 2014 Stingray. Replaced engine in 2016 w/13,500 miles. Still under warranty so no costs to me. Going 45 mph when the car just shutdown on way to 4th of July BBQ. Service Manager said piston had exploded and there was a hole in the cylinder. Removed right valve cover and intake valve spring broke and intake valve gone. GM authorized complete replacement and engine sent to Bowling Green to determine cause (never learned the cause but I'm not a fast driver! Just drive to and from golf course everyday. Once I got it up to 80 though!). Service manager did an excellent job replacing the engine (took about 3 weeks). No issues since replacement. See a lot of thumbs up, SmartPhones taking pictures, and smiles. The mechanics of raising and lowering the top is absolutely awesome and draws a lot of attention too! One trip from DC area to Connecticut and back. Otherwise, just drive around town and to/from the golf course (weather permitting).

^^^Glad things worked out for you and seemed like you took it with a grain of salt. Your Stingray looks great and hope it is good to you for now on and especially this July 4th!

Wind noise/convertible top shake
anybody else worried about driving with top up and window(s) open?
I look in my rearview mirror and see the lower bottom edge of top where it meets the deck shaking hard
Will this eventually mean possible gaps? water/rain leaking into cabin?

Great thread and information..... I did find this video from Autogeek on applying RaggTopp cleaner/protectant so thought I would share.... they do not mask windows etc. but several points on prep and application are good to know (e.g. make certain top is TOTALLY DRY before applying protectant, using "blotting" vs. wiping)....lots of other videos on the topic will/should also appear on the right!!
RAGGTOPP™ Convertible Top Fabric Protectant Hints
* Clean as directed with RAGGTOPP™ Convertible Top Fabric & Vinyl Cleaner and allow to thoroughly dry.
* Shake well, product must always be well mixed.
* Spray lightly using gentle sweeping motions 18 to 24 inches from fabric top.
* Allow top to dry 10 to 15 minutes between coats. The sun will speed up the drying allowing you to apply additional applications.
* Once dry to the touch apply additional coat. (Two or three coats are recommended on first application.)
* Allow 24 hours for the micro-bonding process to set.
* IMMEDIATELY wipe over spray from glass automotive/truck finish with a microfiber towel.
* Reapply several times per year as needed maximum UV protection as well as stain and water repellency.

My 2016 had a recall to fix that problem. Just a reflash of the appropriate computer. Even after that I have had a similar problem and I opened the truck with the key and it has worked well since then.
