Leather dash issue
Has anyone else had a problem with the leather separating from the dash panel on their Vette?
If you look at the dash by the windshield you can see the separation.
This is on the passenger side of the dash.
Another view of the center of the dash by the windshield.

Nope, you're the only one.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
A few have had this issue. Should be covered under your bumper-to-bumper warranty if your C7 is still covered under such. If not, it's about a $3000 repair as practically everything forward of the seats has to come out to replace the dash.
Good luck!

Yup. Mine has done the same thing. Pretty common issue from the research I've done. Like above poster said, I read entire dash needs to come off to fix, and then the dreaded rattles and squeaks may appear after its re-installed. Mine is not too bad right now so I'm just gonna leave it as it is garage kept.

Yes. It is an issue with 3LT, or 3LZ dashboards. Some will minimize the issue, but a significant number of owners with this particular dashboard have had issues. This is a fact and not an opinion and not open for debate.
Percentage wise? My son had it happen twice to his 2017 Z06, so I presume it must be more than coincidence.
Have never read reports of 1LT, or 2LT cars having this issue. I don't know if you fit into that group, but you would be the first that has had my eyes seen it reported for the option 1 and 2 group.
If you want my opinion? Have it replaced with a 2 option dashboard.
Sorry to read this has happened to your car.

2018 up have a different method to hold the leather down. Of you have one before that? Well.... you have 90% or higher chance of being fine. Just sucks to be in that last few 10%...
That's a friend i made on the Corvette Team who works with Tadge Harlan and company.
I also chose the extra 2yr for bumper to bumper coverage so I am good for 5yrs with all that bs stuff instead of 3yrs.
Best 1400 and change i ever spent for peace of mind for years 4 and 5...

Just traded into a 2019 3LT/Z51 (new vehicle, dealer clearing out the remaining C7s) from a 2016 2LT.
Dealing with the delamination issue on a minor scale as the leather surrounding the HUD delaminated. Car is with an upholsterer the dealership uses to fix the problem.

Unfortunately, that is a problem that way too many owners with the 3LT option have experienced. If not under warranty, it is a very expensive fix. Do a search in 3LT dash and you should get plenty of hits about the delamination issue.

If you do your research HERE, on this particular forum, it does appear to be a common issue. Is that a fair assessment? No, but without access to more data we don't have the full scope of the problem.
Now you can flip that information two ways:
A) lots of dash issues are UNDER reported since not every C7 owner comes to this site to report the problem... or
B) the problem is OVER stated because many people come on this site looking for a solution to dash failures.
Ether way the FACT is the 3LT dash CAN delaminate.
Will this happen to you? Unknown What are chances? 1 in 1,000 or 1 in 10,000?

In reviewing the OPs profile, he has a 2015 Z06 so he's probably out of warranty and I believe most extended warranties consider this "cosmetic".
GM fixed the problem during the 2018 model run with new adhesive and new clips to secure the leather. I have a 2019 Z06 that I took delivery of in July 2018 and my 3LZ interior is still in perfect shape. However, I have a friend who had his 3LT interior dashboard replaced on his 2017 Grand Sport due to the leather lifting near the HUD and the window defroster. Looks as good as new, however I'm not sure if they use the new adhesive and/or clips on the repair.

Finalist 2020 C7 of the Year -- Unmodified
We need a thread for Corvette owners that do not have the problem and how much time their car is left in the sun ! We will then see if the numbers are higher or lower with this problem at least with forum members!!!!

I feel sorry for the OP. He asked a perfectly reasonable question seeking help - and then gets subjected to this nonsense.

I guess I just joined the club. 2017 GS 3LT with 34,000 miles. It started this spring around the area of the defrost vents. I don't even use the defrost much, I don't drive Nov. to March.
I'm now trying to remember what my normal warranty, time and miles????

Take it in immediately. The basic warranty is 36 months/36,000miles.

I had two separate issues with my dash coming apart, first was the main large piece, shortly thereafter the cut out around the HID, had to be approved both times by a district manager even though I was still under the B to B warranty before dealer would replace, such BS. This same rat bastard dealer tried to charge me $ 690.00 for the 350 dollar MRC upgrade, last time they saw my smiling face.

The only fix to the OP is replacing the dash surfaces.

My 2017 Z vert with 3LZ has not experienced this issue....YET. And hopefully it never does. But I am certainly aware of the possibility of it occurring at any time. My car rarely sits outside and when it does the top is up, windshield shade(UVS100) is on, and windows are tinted 5%. My personal belief is that heat from the beat down of direct sunlight is the culprit. Also, what I have not seen mentioned as a possible cause is the heavy use of the defroster during the cold weather. Seems the defroster vent area is where most of the dashes delaminate. Quite possible this contributes to it.
I’d like to think that with all of the instances of this problem occurring, there would be enough info on what these cars are exposed to(heat, sun, cleaning chems, storage)to narrow down a cause. So while I hate to see all the brawling on these threads, I still read through all of the posts to gather information on keeping it from occurring to my car.
